The Early Lifecycle team is at the heart of securing the future growth of the Defence business. We are delivering tomorrows technology fast, by bringing together the company’s best engineers, programme managers and business professionals. Working together with Governments and international partners, we deliver new and innovative power and propulsion technology to meet the customers emerging requirements.
An exciting opportunity for a Programme Lead has arisen within our team to support the full range of activities from managing contract finances and external customer interactions to delivering technology development projects and the future product strategy. Successful delivery of this programme will ensure both the UK and Rolls-Royce retains combat capability, protecting freedom of action for the UK and enabling the company to maintain our market share.
What you will be doing:
- Plan and deliver defined work packages such as technology development projects on one of the most exciting and fastest growing Defence programmes.
- Apply programme management processes to establish and maintain the documentation necessary to deliver the packages of work.
- Be accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time, acting as the team lead to manage delivery through governance and change control.
- Report progress to the customer, including milestones, financials and opportunities/risks to maintain delivery expectations.
- Raise Purchase Orders and manage suppliers to deliver design, hardware and testing.
Position qualifications:
- Experience planning and leading projects in complex environments
- Proven delivery against time, cost, quality targets using programme management processes
- Strong stakeholder and governance management skills
- Financially literate, with the ability to manage budgets, forecasts and cost performance.
Preferred requirements:
- Professional accreditation (e.g. APM) or working towards
- Experience working with national or international suppliers, partners or customers.
- Experience driving continuous-improvement or transformation within a programme environment.
- Experience using SAP to raise Networks and Activities, and Coupa to raise Purchase Orders.
