The Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of their assigned project. This requires preparing, planning, executing and controlling all aspects of the project either directly or through delegation with the project team. Successful delivery requires monitoring and controlling financials, works schedule, resources (including subcontractors) as well as managing the project stakeholders (internal and external).
ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe working environment on site for all employees, subcontractors, suppliers, Clients and visitors. Lead the achievement of company and Project safety targets and zero tolerance of unsafe working practices and occurrences
- Own the project schedule and ensure timely delivery in terms of cost, specifications, and client satisfaction.
- Responsible for contractual delivery of projects to customers at the booked margin
- Maximization of Customer Satisfaction through responsiveness and quality of service
- Provide technical guidance to the site, and resolve critical site issues.
- Implement the company and Projects QA/QC procedures and ensure works meet quality standards and specifications.
- Work with the planning team to develop detailed and accurate work schedules, daily and weekly metrics and reporting data.
- Work with construction manager and site supervisors to ensure smooth sequential working and coordination with interfacing/adjacent contractors.
- Pro-actively manage the Design function of assigned works package be it internal Honeywell or external agencies.
- Provide input on all VO’s and contractual claims ensuring that the construction-related substantiation in notifications and follow-up is clearly defined, accurate and demonstrable.
- Ensure the physical completion of works packages in all respects to facilitate handover and acceptance.
- Follow up and track all Retention and Defects Liability Period punch-lists/snags to ensure close out of work packages and release of retention monies.
- Direct the day to day operations of the project team
- Manage effective communications with all project stakeholders
- Define all subcontract /supply requirements and work with Supply Chain to ensure all subcontractor/supplier contracts and orders are appropriate for the project from a scope/cost and risk viewpoint. Lead or participate in negotiations as necessary
- Deliver to the financial objectives for the project and control billing and costs for the project. Drive project team to maintain Estimated Actual Cost at Completion
- Devising and implementing risk management programs and ensure proactive risk mitigation strategies are implemented and communicating these to management on a regular basis
- Report to Project Director on project progress and relevant issues on a regular basis
- Drive the project team to minimize the cost of lab our in delivering a successful project through the use of low cost resources while minimizing defects and rework.
- Coordination and control of the change management process both technical and commercial
You must have:
- Degree in an Engineering discipline; Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics or Communications.
- 6 – 9 years of experience in Project Management with min of 3 years working as Project Manager.
- PMP is a must – or any other Professional PM Certification (PRINCE/AIPM/..)
- Proven experience in project management including budget ownership/management, resource allocation, scheduling and forecast.
- Project Commercial and Financial management experience [Revenue – Billing – Cash – EAC – BAC – etc..]
- Demonstrated experience in safety and safety management on large commercial and infrastructure projects
- Commitment to the development of junior or less experienced staff in the project team
- Capacity to deliver against multiple and competing objectives.
- Demonstrable customer relation skills
- Proven commercial/contractual acumen
- Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of the application of ICT design principles for business and IT system projects.
- Proven ability to negotiate, engage, monitor, and manage ICT / ELV contractors.
