The Senior ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining an on‑premises ServiceNow platform to support enterprise workflows, automation, and operational efficiency. This role requires deep technical expertise in ServiceNow architecture, hands-on development experience, and strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, system owners, and stakeholders. The candidate will serve as a technical expert for on‑prem environments, ensuring platform stability, security, and high‑quality solution delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow solutions in an on‑premises environment, including custom applications, integrations, workflows, and automation.
- Maintain and enhance core modules such as Incident, Change, Problem, Service Catalog, CMDB, Discovery, and custom applications.
- Customize and configure UI policies, business rules, client scripts, server scripts, and platform workflow components.
- Manage and maintain ServiceNow infrastructure, including upgrades, patching, instance configuration, and performance tuning.
- Ensure platform security, compliance, and governance practices are consistently applied.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, platform defects, and performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborate closely with functional teams to gather requirements, refine user stories, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Document technical designs, release notes, architecture, and configuration changes.
- Mentor junior developers, share best practices, and contribute to team knowledge development.
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of direct ServiceNow development experience, with at least 6 months supporting on‑prem environments.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- Understanding of ITIL or related service management frameworks.
Preferred:
- Additional certifications preferred (CAD, CIS in relevant modules).
- Advanced knowledge of ServiceNow architecture, scripting, and platform configuration.
- Experience supporting high‑security or isolated network environments.
- Experience with PowerShell, Python, or other automation tooling used in integrations.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow administration, module configuration, and workflow creation.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose issues across application layers.
- Strong communication abilities with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
