Are you a results-driven engineering leader who thrives at the intersection of technology, strategy, and execution? Join our team as an Engineering Program Manager, where you’ll lead complex, high-impact programs that power solutions in the medical and aviation security sectors.
In this role, you won’t just manage projects, you’ll turn vision into reality. You’ll partner across a matrixed engineering organization to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions that meet customer needs—on time and within budget. If you’re energized by solving tough challenges, navigating ambiguity, and leading cross-functional teams, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
About the RoleAt Analogic, we build the CT systems that transportation security professionals rely on to keep the traveling public safe. This role will be assigned to one of four work streams based on business need and the candidate's background:
- SeleCT — new checked baggage CT product development, from architecture through integration and release
- ConneCT — Existing checkpoint CT product development, the software/system layer that connects and orchestrates screening equipment
- Lanes — automated screening lane hardware and its integration with ConneCT and checkpoint operations
- Legacy CT Sustainment — sustaining engineering, field issues for fielded CT systems
These programs succeed or fail on tight coordination across mechanical, electrical, software, systems, test, and manufacturing engineering — and on someone in the room who understands all of it well enough to catch a bad plan before it becomes a missed milestone.
We are hiring a Technical Program Manager who is, first and foremost, a systems engineer — a genuine “jack of all trades” who has worked across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines (including hands-on development in C and Python), has led engineers or cross-discipline teams, and is now ready to apply that breadth to running programs rather than owning a single subsystem. This is not a traditional program management role staffed by a career PM who has picked up technical vocabulary. We want someone the engineering teams already trust as a peer — comfortable reading a mechanical drawing, an electrical schematic, and a stack trace in the same afternoon — who also has basic fluency with scheduling and project-management tools and can turn technical reality into a credible plan.
What You'll Do- Own end-to-end technical and execution leadership of complex, cross-functional programs on SeleCT, ConneCT, Lanes, or Legacy CT Sustainment — from concept and architecture through integration, verification, release, deployment, and field support
- Get into the technical detail across disciplines: review mechanical and electrical designs, evaluate software architecture, understand the real root causes of slips (not just report them), and work through trade-offs alongside engineering leads as a credible peer, not a scribe
- Partner with systems, mechanical, electrical, software, test, manufacturing, and field service teams to translate customer and regulatory (TSA/ECAC) requirements into clear technical plans, interfaces, and acceptance criteria
- Define scope, milestones, technical dependencies, staffing needs, and release/verification criteria in partnership with engineering leads and product line managers
- Identify integration and dependency risk early — mechanical-electrical-software interfaces, Lanes/ConneCT integration points, supplier and vendor deliverables, shared test infrastructure — and drive resolution before it becomes a blocker
- Build and maintain practical program plans, roadmaps, and status reporting using tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Azure DevOps, without outsourcing the technical judgment behind the numbers
- Lead engineers through technical credibility and influence: set priorities, clarify ownership, facilitate design and architecture reviews that produce decisions (not just status updates), remove blockers, and mentor team members — with or without formal reporting authority
- Use Python and/or C skills hands-on when it moves the program forward — diagnosing an integration issue, evaluating a prototype, or building a quick tool — rather than relying entirely on others to interpret technical problems
- Own program risks, issues, and change control (including Engineering Change Orders where applicable); assess and clearly communicate impacts to cost, schedule, quality, and performance
- Coordinate release planning, launch readiness, field rollout sequencing, and post-launch retrospectives across engineering, manufacturing, and field teams
- Communicate technical strategy, status, risks, and recovery plans clearly to engineers, program leadership, and customers — without dumbing it down or drowning it in jargon
- Drive process improvements — better technical decomposition of work, clearer dependency mapping, more predictable schedules — grounded in firsthand experience of where hardware/software programs actually break
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience spanning multiple disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, or systems engineering) with meaningful, practical software development experience in C and/or Python — you do not need to be a principal software engineer, but you need to be able to read and reason about real code and real designs
- Demonstrated experience leading people or cross-discipline technical teams — as a lead engineer, systems lead, or engineering manager directing the work of others — not solely as an individual contributor
- Working understanding of scheduling and program-management fundamentals (critical path, dependency mapping, milestone tracking, risk/issue tracking) and basic proficiency with at least one scheduling/tracking tool (MS Project, Jira, or Azure DevOps); advanced PM credentials are not required
- Experience delivering complex work across multiple engineering disciplines or teams, including managing integration risk at boundaries you don't personally own (e.g., where mechanical meets electrical, or hardware meets software)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to brief engineers and program leadership on the same issue without losing either audience
- Must be a U.S. Person as required by applicable export control regulations
- Experience with electromechanical or embedded systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems — CT/X-ray systems, conveyance/lane automation, or other regulated, mission-critical hardware
- Experience delivering regulated products in aviation security, medical devices, aerospace, or defense
- Familiarity with systems engineering practices — requirements decomposition, interface definition, verification and validation, technical baseline management
- Experience integrating a new product (like SeleCT) with adjacent systems (like ConneCT and Lanes), or supporting a fielded legacy CT product through its sustainment lifecycle
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum/Kanban planning across teams that don't share a manager
- Exposure to data-driven program tracking — dashboards, KPI/SLA reporting — for engineering and customer visibility
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or Scrum certification is a plus, not a prerequisite
- Work on mission-critical technologies that make a real-world impact
- Collaborate with talented, multidisciplinary teams
- Take ownership of meaningful programs with high visibility and influence
- Grow your career in an environment that values innovation, accountability, and excellence.
