About the Position
The Program Manager – Customer Implementations (3PL/WMS) leads end-to-end customer onboarding and implementation programs for contract logistics operations, with a strong focus on Warehouse Management System (WMS) design, configuration, testing, and go-live readiness. This role partners with customers and internal teams (Operations, Engineering, IT, Solutions, Transportation, Finance, and site leadership) to translate requirements into an executable implementation plan, manage scope and risk, coordinate integrations and data readiness, and deliver launches that meet service, cost, and quality commitments. The Program Manager owns program governance, stakeholder communications, and continuous improvement across the implementation playbook to ensure repeatable, scalable delivery.
Functions
Implementation Program Leadership & Governance
- Own end-to-end program management for 3PL customer implementations, including project charter, scope, milestones, deliverables, budget (as applicable), and success metrics (SLAs/KPIs).
- Establish and run implementation governance (RAID logs, dependency management, change control, executive updates, and weekly cross-functional cadence); drive decisions and timely escalation to protect launch dates and operational readiness.
Customer Implementation Delivery (Discovery to Hypercare)
- Lead implementation phases including discovery/workshops, requirements & gap analysis, solution design (process flows and operational SOPs), WMS configuration/setup, integration and data readiness (master data, item/slotting, EDI/API), testing (SIT/UAT), training, cutover planning, go-live, and hypercare stabilization.
WMS, Process Design & Change Management
- Partner with Operations and Solutions/Engineering to design future-state warehouse processes (inbound, receiving, putaway, replenishment, pick/pack/ship, VAS, returns), translate them into WMS configuration rules, and publish SOPs, work instructions, and training materials that enable consistent execution.
Integrations, Vendors & Stakeholder Partnership
- Coordinate technical workstreams with IT and external parties for integrations (ERP/TMS, parcel, automation, labor management, EDI/API), environments, user access, and data migration; ensure testing evidence and readiness for cutover.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders (customer operations/IT, site leadership, WMS vendors/partners) through clear communication, meeting facilitation, issue resolution, and expectation management; lead QBR-style launch retrospectives to capture lessons learned and improve the implementation playbook.
Launch Readiness, KPI/SLA Performance & Financial Tracking
- Define launch readiness criteria and operational acceptance (staffing/training completion, inventory & data readiness, equipment/labeling, wave plans, contingency plans). Ensure a clean handoff to steady-state operations with support model and hypercare plan.
- Track implementation performance and outcomes (budget, timeline, scope, SLA readiness) and partner with Finance/Commercial teams on implementation costs, change orders (if applicable), and benefits realization.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience leading customer implementations and/or complex projects in a 3PL, warehouse, distribution, or supply chain technology environment.
- Hands-on experience with WMS implementations (configuration, process design, testing/UAT, training, and go-live/hypercare). Familiarity with common WMS/TMS/ERP integration patterns (EDI/API) strongly preferred.
- Strong program/project management fundamentals (scope, schedule, RAID, dependency and change control). PMP, PgMP, or Agile/Scrum certifications are a plus.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate between operations and technical teams and to operate effectively in fast-paced launch environments.
Competencies
- Customer focus; implementation execution; cross-functional leadership; analytical problem solving; change management; process design mindset; risk/issue management; communication and executive presence; attention to detail; bias for action.
Travel Requirements
- This position is expected to travel up to 50% (varies by implementation phase), including time onsite at distribution centers for process discovery, training, and go-live support.
- Periodic travel may be required for site walkthroughs, pilot runs, cutovers, and hypercare support following go-live.
- May involve international travel to Mexico or Canada
