We are seeking an experienced Program/Project Manager to join the Military Portfolio team, who will be responsible for the delivery of a number of product redesign projects, satisfaction of the customer and business objectives tied to the assigned projects.
This is a key role within our business and an exciting opportunity to build a strong and lasting relationship with this key customer. We are in the latter stages of the lifecycle, with product refresh being key to our success for the future! In this role you will foster a “one team” approach to customer satisfaction and will lead a cross-functional team to deliver all contracted project deliverables, advocating for strong project governance on new product introduction, whilst driving cost out to maintain or improve the business case for the future.Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

As a Program Manager within the Power Distribution and Controls business the candidate will support the wider business and will be instrumental in helping build a long-term relationship with the customer, the objective to develop further business and collaboration opportunities. Also, contribute to the business strategy, product, and technology plans.

Duties & responsibilities include:

  • Lead the Project team and ensure that contracted commitments are adequately supported
  • Ensure that Toll Gate reviews are completed to the highest standard
  • Support the Project Bids from TG 0 managing both business and customer expectations
  • Accountable for the successful delivery of the project(s), deliver all contract performance related activities, tied to customer(s) and program(s)
  • Perform as interface between the customer, key suppliers, and the internal business team
  • Drive performance including execution of project milestones, On-Time Delivery of all associated items and be the point of contact for our customer. Remove barriers to execution
  • Lead requested Production Readiness Assessments ensuring that the wider cross functional teams understand the accountability required during such reviews
  • Assure timely resolution of issues, keep the customer advised of the progress of the project, and negotiate changes, variations, and solutions to issues
  • Strengthen the relationship with the Sustaining Engineering and Supply Chain team to resolve issues, collaborate to improve product performance
  • Responsible for financial & technical metrics specific to contracts this will include management of the Level of Effort and associated NRE budgets
  • Support development of financial plans including S&OP, Growth Play Book (Budget), S2 and Operating Plan
  • Drive safety and compliance in all that we do
  • Manage the project(s) inline with the Platform Strategy
  • Build a long-term relationship with the customer, understand the business structure, key stakeholders, decision makers and customer strategy
  • Help define our market and product strategy through relationship with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/ college and/or equivalent demonstrated experience to manage significant delivery commitments to critical customers, ideally in an aviation equipment environment or similar highly regulated business sector
  • Proven ability to manage significant customer relationships, expectations, and the necessary contractual requirements
  • Willingness and ability to travel 
  • Strong program management ability 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills 
  • Passion for customer satisfaction

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven track record of managing challenging Engineering project schedules and budgets
  • Experience of Hoshin Kanri (HK) and Lean problem-solving techniques
  • People and team leadership experience 
  • PMI accreditation (or equivalent) 
  • Ability to influence at a wide variety of levels across the business 
  • Experience at working with international customer base
