Job Description

Role Summary:

The Program Manager reports to the Project Director for a given region and provides leadership through planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating Agilec sites/projects to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and employee experience are achieved while meeting or exceeding contractual obligations.

Work Location: This position is based at our Bath (Loyalist Township) location and supports operations at both our Bath and Barry’s Bay offices. Occasional travel to the Barry’s Bay office is required.

 Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates one or more Agilec sites/projects 
  • Execute Site budget, business plan, quality management plan, service initiatives and meet performance-based outcome targets
  • Communicate business strategy and facilitate team development
  • Prioritizes assignments and adjusts or adapts service delivery as needed
  • Build a positive, supportive team culture
  • Responsible for ensuring staff are accountable to QA, Privacy, and other Agilec priorities 
  • Timely management and reporting of internal and external responsibilities to appropriate departments/funders
  • Identifies and approves training and development for frontline staff to ensure that staff meet performance expectations 
  • Delegate and direct frontline staff to ensure uniform delivery of service across all teams within; establishes expectations and supports the Frontline roles
  • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback and corrective action as necessary to ensure staff meets objectives.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project; planning and growth for site (new programs, increased contracts)
  • Understanding local labour market, community demographics to support their planning and growth

Qualifications

What You Bring

Education:

  • Completed post-secondary diploma or degree from a recognized Canadian institute in Human Services Field or other related field  
  • Relevant certifications, such as MCVP, CVP, RRP, or CDP an asset

Experience:

  • Minimum three years' experience required in employment services or related field
  • Three years of financial management experience working with project funders/customers
  • Three years demonstrated effective Leadership experience in outcome-based projects
  • Experience organizing, planning and developing program operations at a supervisory level
  • Demonstrated experience building partnerships with employers, community agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated competence achieving financial and operational goals
  • Experience working with people with disabilities and barriers to employment

Required Skills:

  • Successful problem-solving, proactive planning, decision-making, and time-management skills
  • Ability to support and direct staff to effectively support people with disabilities and barriers to employment
  • Excellent written communication skills demonstrated through proposal writing, electronic communication, and/or writing and summarizing monthly reports
  • Excellent verbal communication demonstrated through everyday dealings with team, clients, and customers
  • Proficient contract, budget, and operational management skills
  • Skilled at leading, supervising, and holding accountable direct reports to meet contracted performance expectations
  • Coaching methodologies to lead teams and implement change
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • French language is an asset and a requirement in programs designated as offering a bilingual service

 Knowledge:

  • Understanding of stages of team development 
  • Knowledge of the local and provincial labour markets
  • Knowledge of community and government resources 
  • General knowledge of Employment, Health and Safety, and Human Resources Legislation and practices
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws, regulations, and policies related to social assistance and workforce programs
  • Solid understanding of confidentiality and other professional codes of conduct; must submit for a criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector
  • Strong understanding of computer networks, applications, hardware, and office equipment

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel as required; access to a reliable vehicle is required.
  • Must provide a clear Enhanced Police Check (Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check).
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
