Program Manager

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Program Manager to join our growing team at Abilis!

Job Summary: The Program Manager is the on-site supervisory position within the residence. This role is responsible for directing, supervising, implementing, and evaluating the residential programs in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures. The Program Manager ensures that residents' needs are met, promotes a supportive environment, and provides direct care and supervision as needed. Flexibility is essential to adapt to the diverse needs of individual residents. 

Responsibilities: 

• Serve as primary communication link between the residence, residents, families, and agency programs. 

• Conduct tours for prospective residents and assess appropriateness of admissions. 

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Plans (IPs) to achieve resident goals. 

• Provide crisis assistance and monitor residents’ physical health, referring for medical services as needed. 

• Facilitate staff meetings and ensure team members are trained in implementing resident goals. 

• Participate in hiring, orientation, training, supervision, and performance evaluations of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). 

• Maintain documentation of staff training, certifications, and compliance with agency policies. 

• Develop staff schedules and manage time-off requests. 

• Ensure residence meets licensure standards and agency philosophy. 

• Monitor compliance in areas such as staff employment, fire safety, food prep, medical supplies, and program documentation. 

• Conduct inspections, maintain equipment and vehicles, and coordinate repairs as needed. 

• Maintain accurate resident files and documentation. 

• Promote positive community relations while maintaining confidentiality. 

• Support resident participation in community activities and integration programs. 

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred. 

• Minimum 1 year of full-time residential or related supervisory experience. 

• CPR and Medication Certification (or ability to obtain/maintain). 

• Physically able to perform CPR, Heimlich maneuver, and lift up to 50 lbs

• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate agency vehicles safely. 

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with program participants. 

• Proficient in staff supervision, program implementation, and maintaining facility and resident records.
