Position Description:

The University of Louisville School of Nursing is seeking to hire a Program Manager I. The Program Manager I/Clinical Placement Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the nursing program and clinical agencies to ensure seamless coordination of undergraduate clinical learning experiences. This role is responsible for securing, organizing, and managing clinical placements for undergraduate nursing students in both group and precepted practicum settings. The coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining partnerships with healthcare facilities while ensuring students receive quality clinical education experiences that meet program requirements.  Target salary is approximately $65,000 and may vary based on experience, internal equity, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical placements for all pre-licensure nursing students in group and precepted practicum experiences, working collaboratively with faculty to ensure appropriate site selection and student-preceptor matching.

  • Manage clinical placement database and reporting systems, maintaining accurate records of student placements, preceptor assignments, and clinical activities, including site utilization metrics, student hours, and outcome data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for program evaluation, accreditation reporting, and continuous quality improvement, while generating reports as needed for faculty and administration.

  • Oversee administrative functions related to clinical placements, including preparation, distribution of documents, and correspondence.

  • Maintain partnerships with clinical agencies through facilitation of communication between the ULSON and clinical sites to ensure clear expectations, proper scheduling, and resolution of any placement-related issues or concerns.

  • Provide support for clinical contract tracking, including monitoring contract status, expiration dates, and renewal timelines in coordination with the SON Contract Specialist, to ensure all affiliation agreements remain current and compliant.

  • Maintain clinical placement rotations in third-party placement software, ensuring accurate and up-to-date scheduling data, site assignments, and student records within the designated platform in accordance with clinical partner requirements.

  • Serve as the primary liaison to all external stakeholders related to undergraduate clinical placements, including healthcare agencies, clinical site coordinators, and community partners, fostering collaborative relationships that support the quality and continuity of student learning experiences.

  • Screen all prospective preceptors for eligibility in accordance with ULSON and CCNE accreditation standards, and maintain current and complete preceptor credential files, including licensure verification, professional certifications, and required training documentation.

  • Coordinate with the part-time Clinical Coordinator to facilitate the onboarding of all clinical faculty, including adjunct and preceptor faculty, ensuring completion of required orientation, credentialing, compliance documentation, and clinical site-specific requirements prior to placement.

  • Visits to clinical sites (mileage reimbursement provided).

  • Other duties as assigned.
