Disaster Recovery Program Manager

Position Summary

Oversee and enhance Cogeco's Disaster Recovery Program, focusing on security resilience and automation to mitigate advanced, AI-driven threats. Drive the integrated Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Business Impact Analysis (BIA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) programs, ensuring rapid and effective recovery from technology interruptions and security-driven events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Resilience & Automation: Lead the standardization, simplification, and automation of DR processes (cloud and on-prem), leveraging consolidated and automated DR technologies.
  • Threat Mitigation & Design: Partner with Architects (network, application) to ensure DR designs incorporate advanced security controls, such as Zero Trust, and recommend disaster avoidance enhancements.
  • BCP/BIA Ownership: Lead all Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and BCP development activities, establishing Recovery Time/Point Objectives (RTO/RPO) and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
  • Testing & Validation: Organize and coordinate regular DR testing, validating plans and analyzing and documenting technology-to-business DR dependencies.
  • Process Refinement: Audit, update, and streamline DR/BCP restoration processes to specifically address security-driven events, requiring close alignment with InfoSec for advanced incident detection and mitigation.
  • Infrastructure Oversight: Review critical systems infrastructure upgrades and enhancements to ensure alignment with defined BCP/DR strategies and RTO/RPO requirements.

Essential Qualifications

Academic Training: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Work Experience: 10+ years in IT, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated experience managing integrated Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning (DR/BCP) programs; proven experience writing and maintaining technical documentation.

Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of IT architecture (servers, network, cloud—GCP preferred), process implementation methodologies (e.g., ITIL), and expert-level knowledge of BCP and Business Impact Analysis (BIA) methodologies.

Core Competencies: Exceptional program management and leadership skills; demonstrated ability to conduct risk/failure point analysis on complex system designs; strong communication and proven ability to drive cultural change across technology and business teams.

Scope of work: this position will oversee a team of 3 internal resources resources
