Ready to orchestrate enterprise-scale transformation? In this role, you will unite cross-functional teams across our xVault platform to harmonize planning, decision-making, and execution—accelerating value, quality, and compliance across Development. You will shape the Novartis xVault Center of Excellence (CoE), build reusable practices and onboarding playbooks, and embed platform standards through thoughtful governance. If you thrive on influencing without direct authority, clarifying complex dependencies, and turning strategic roadmaps into measurable outcomes that ultimately benefit patients, this is your next step.

Job Description

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Shape and evolve the NxV CoE vision, strategy, and operating model

    • Establish the CoE charter, service catalog (e.g., standards, design authority, enablement), and operating rhythms.

    • Work on maturity roadmap and definition of Operating Model Long term strategy.

    • Build foundational practices for knowledge management, reusable assets, and onboarding/playbooks.

    • Periodically review market/industry trends to inform continuous evolution of the operating model.

  • Serve as IT lead for cross‑Vault governance and platform‑wide consistency

    • Stand up governance forums (e.g., steering, design authority, change control), with defined cadences and agendas.

    • Set decision criteria and RACI; implement transparent decision logs, escalation paths, and traceability to outcomes.

    • Ensure adherence to platform standards and guardrails (e.g., configuration conventions, integration patterns, environment and release policies) to reduce duplication and risk.

    • Ensure harmonized policies across Vaults to enable interoperability and promote platform‑wide improvements by prioritizing shared capabilities, resolving cross‑Vault conflicts, and retiring legacy duplication.

  • Lead integrated planning across cross‑Vault teams

    • Build and maintain multi‑level roadmaps (strategy, portfolio, release) and dependency maps across teams and functions.

    • Facilitate integrated planning events; align priorities, scope, and sequencing; resolve resource/contention trade‑offs.

    • Coordinate release trains and cutover strategies across Vaults to minimize disruption and ensure adoption readiness.

    • Implement capacity planning and scenario analysis; forecast demand versus supply and recommend adjustments.

    • Define and track milestone health, risks/issues, and cross‑team deliverables with clear entry/exit criteria.

  • Provide Delivery Excellence oversight across tech‑enabled transformation across Development.

    • Formalize delivery excellence practices and knowledge exchange across Development space

    • Monitor delivery health (e.g., scope, schedule, budget, quality); surface trends and corrective actions.

    • Establish Communities of Practice and cross‑functional forums to share best practices, patterns, and lessons learned.

    • Create standardized delivery playbooks & set of practices (e.g., Definition of Ready/Done, risk & issue management, change control).

    • Partner with business, quality, data, and security teams to ensure compliance, traceability, and risk management.

    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement using data and feedback

  • Delivery or oversight of different xDev initiatives to ensure consistency, efficiency and complex interdependencies management

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in informatics, computer science, business, or a related discipline.

  • Extensive experience leading enterprise change initiatives in large, cross-functional environments.

  • Deep expertise in information technology program and portfolio management practices.

  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive decisions without formal authority.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership with collaborative, inclusive team practices.

  • Advanced planning and resource management skills; delivering scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

  • Experience with compliance, traceability, and risk management in regulated or audited settings.

  • Fluent in English; exceptional communication and relationship-building across business and technology.
