Role Purpose
The Program Manager
Airports lead the delivery of a major stream or set of related projects within the airport programs, accountable for coordinated delivery of scope, schedule, cost, quality and benefits across multiple projects.
Operating under the Program Director, the role drives cross-project planning, dependency management and delivery, ensuring workstreams combine into a coherent, on-track programs in a 24/7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Programme-Stream Delivery
- Plan and deliver a portfolio of related projects, managing cross-project dependencies and integration.
- Own the stream schedule, budget and resource plan; track progress and manage the critical path.
- Coordinate technical, operational and vendor teams to achieve delivery objectives.
Risk, Change & Governance
- Own stream-level RAID and change control; escalate to the Program Director and PMO as required.
- Assure quality, safety, security and compliance; support readiness, transition and go-live.
- Operate within program governance and standards.
Commercial & Stakeholder
- Manage stream budget, forecasting and supplier performance.
- Build strong relationships with client, operational and vendor stakeholders.
- Lead and develop project managers and teams within the stream.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Program/multi-project delivery: Proven experience managing multiple related projects or a delivery stream to time, cost and quality.
- Methodology: Strong command of program/project methods (PMI/PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, agile/hybrid).
- Planning & control: Skilled in cross-project planning, dependency, budget and risk management.
- Leadership: Ability to lead project managers and multi-disciplinary, multi-vendor teams.
- Stakeholder management: Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Desirable
- Experience in aviation, airports or comparable 24/7 critical-infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with airport programs (terminal openings, ORAT/transition).
- Exposure to MSI delivery models.
- Programs/project certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, MSP) and/or SAFe.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Program/project certification strongly preferred (PMP, PRINCE2, MSP or equivalent).
