GENERAL OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our AI Platforms and Services (AIPS) team and lead our growing portfolio of enterprise AI initiatives. The AIPS team is a critical enabler of AI-driven innovation at Highmark Health, functioning as an internal service provider to deliver cutting-edge AI infrastructure, standards and solutions. We are revolutionizing how our organization leverages AI, and our team culture is highly collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented, valuing continuous learning and open communication.
In this role, you will be instrumental in translating strategic goals into successful program delivery, driving the definition, implementation, and execution of complex, interdependent AI programs. While you will not have formal HR supervisory duties, you will act as a key program leader, providing crucial oversight, mentorship, and coaching to our existing team of project managers to foster a culture of excellence. You will establish a program-level reporting framework to provide transparent updates to leadership, develop a master schedule to actively manage cross-project dependencies, and define clear escalation pathways to resolve roadblocks and ensure on-time delivery across multiple teams. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with management to assemble project teams and work groups to produce deliverables required to achieve the objectives of a defined corporate program. Lead project managers and work group leaders in the development and maintenance of comprehensive plans for a defined corporate program.
- Organize, direct and coordinate cross-functional activities to focus corporate resources on the successful delivery and implementation of the desired results for a defined corporate program and/or strategic initiative.
- Work with the executive sponsor of a corporate program (VP or higher), and other management as required to achieve the objectives of a defined corporate program. Acquire detailed understanding of the business objectives for an assigned area.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress, alignment and financial “health” of a cross-functional group of projects and related activities which together, constitutes a defined corporate program. Direct corrective action as needed to maintain the viability of the program. If required - Report to the executive team/sponsor/steering committee on the progress, business impacts and strategies around the program(s).
- Assess risks that might jeopardize successful achievement of the desired results of a program, develop risk mitigation strategies and tactics, and implement risk mitigation plans.
- As needed - Partners with procurement to develop and execute strategies related to the service/asset contracts.
- As needed - Manages the vendor to the responsibilities outlined in the contract and statement of work.

EDUCATION

- High School Diploma / GED

EXPERIENCE
Minimum
- 7 -10 years of work experience in project management or
- 7-10 years of work experience delivering business solutions using information technology

- Strong background in driving delivery across matrixed teams and navigating escalation pathways to resolve technical and organizational roadblocks.
- Proven track record of mentoring, coaching, and providing day-to-day delivery oversight to project managers.
- Deep experience establishing program-level reporting frameworks and managing complex cross-project interdependencies.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex programs specifically within AI, Machine Learning, or data-driven technology platforms.

Pay Range Minimum:
$94,200.00Pay Range Maximum:
$151,000.00Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations.
