Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a strategic, results-driven Remediation Program Manager with deep expertise in environmental assessment and remediation for Oil and Gas clients operating in Colorado, Texas or California. This role leads complex programs across upstream, midstream, and downstream assets, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will bring a nuanced understanding of state-specific environmental regulations and technical delivery excellence and will manage a team of remediation professionals. The candidate can be located in either the Southern California area (LA to San Diego) or Northern California (Sacramento, San Fran, Oakland area) or Texas Area specifically (Midland, or Houston).
Project Delivery
- Drives program performance to meet and/or exceed client satisfaction and KPIs
- Drives business performance and the attainment and exceedance of internal KPIs
- Interacts with Governance & Risk Leader to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner
- Develops and formulates solutions to client problems/issues
- Participates in project reviews of major program/project dashboards/deep dives to identify issues and improve performance
- Works to drive adoption of digital tools
- Actively integrates global resources into local delivery and manages the change associated with this transition
- Directly manages projects
People Leadership
- Act as direct supervisor for a team of remediation professionals
- Serves as a focal point for major issue resolution, and provides rapid follow-up to address concerns
- Participates in feedback for Project Managers to assure client satisfaction and long-term growth
- Develops and implements succession plan for the program team and advises on the recruiting of key people to serve client needs
- Assures that project delivery employees working on major programs are trained and mentored with a long-term goal of training new program managers
Business Development
- Works collaboratively with Client Account Managers and Environmental Business Line Leadership to grow profitable backlog and ensure the financial success of their respective client program
- Builds, maintains, and facilitates trusting relationships with key contacts across the depth and breadth of client organizations
- Develops budgets that allow for business development portfolio management, tracking & optimizing wins and bookings, and project oversight
- Leads capture strategies for key pursuits and major projects within the program, ensures those strategies yield high capture rates, grows the business and relevant technical capabilities
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field AND (10) ten years of experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership positions.
- The successful candidate will be subject to a background check and a motor vehicle records check.
- Due to the nature of the role, US Citizenship or permanent residency is required. Sponsorship for this role now and in the future will not be available.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in environmental engineering, geoscience, or related discipline
- P.G. or P.E. Licensed in California or Colorado, or Texas
- (10) Ten years of experience within the environmental consulting industry, and (5) Five years focused on Oil and Gas clients in California, Colorado, or Texas.
- Experienced people manager and team builder
- Proven track record in managing environmental programs under California’s, Colorado's, or Texas' regulatory frameworks
- Experienced communicator and team leader with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders
- Resilient, adaptable, and collaborative in high-pressure environments
