As a GOC Program Manager, you will own the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of critical programs and workflows. In this role, you are responsible for the full project lifecycle—from evaluating new program requests and ensuring they are set up for success, to driving the day-to-day coordination of resources, timelines, and budgets. You will translate complex requirements into comprehensive action plans and roadmaps, working directly with stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met consistently and on time. Beyond execution, you will drive operational rigor by creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while serving as the primary voice of the program through high-touch stakeholder management and executive leadership presentations.
Position Responsibilities
Lead Complex Initiatives: Manage the full program lifecycle for large-scale, cross-functional initiatives, prepare project proposals, charters, defining clear project scope, timelines, critical milestones, and success metrics to ensure on-time delivery.
Drive Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the connective tissue between diverse teams (e.g., Engineering, Product, Operations, Legal, Account Management and other Google teams) to build consensus, lead project kick-off meetings, resolve dependencies, and ensure all stakeholders are aligned on shared goals.
Manage Risks & Resources: Proactively identify potential risks and bottlenecks, by tracking project performance, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans while efficiently allocating resources (tools, and personnel) to maximize impact.
Strategic Planning & Execution: Translate high-level business objectives into actionable project plans, ensuring that program deliverables support the organization’s broader strategic vision and OKRs (Objectives and Key Results).
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for program status, providing clear, data-driven updates to executive leadership and partners to maintain transparency and manage expectations.
Optimize Processes: Continuously evaluate and improve program workflows and operational frameworks, implementing best practices and tools to increase team velocity, efficiency, and scalability.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience and Tools: 5+ years of Program Management experience managing the full project lifecycle (including scoping, gantt charts, scheduling, and milestone tracking) using project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) and tools such as Google Sheets or Asana.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Strong ability to "influence without authority," building consensus and driving alignment across diverse teams (e.g., Tools and Automations, Product, Operations, and stakeholders) in a matrixed environment.
Process Optimization: Experience in analyzing workflows (Lean/Six Sigma) and creating detailed business process maps and flow charts using Lucidchart or similar tools.
Strategic Business Acumen: Ability to understand high-level business strategy and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), translating abstract goals into actionable operational plans.
Analytical Problem Solving: Expertise in risk management and data analysis to proactively identify bottlenecks, allocate resources efficiently, and implement data-driven solutions.
Executive Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise updates for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Having as many of these specific qualifications is a plus, but transferable skills/experiences may be equally valuable:
Professional Certifications: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or Lean Six Sigma certification.
Industry Experience: Experience working in a fast-paced technology, management consulting, or digital marketing environment, with a track record of navigating ambiguity.
Technical/Data Proficiency: Practical experience with SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker), or advanced project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, Trello, or MS Projects).
Global Scale: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously across global teams and time zones.
Change Management: Proven experience in driving organizational change and successfully implementing new operational frameworks or tools across large teams.
