Comprehensive evaluation-focused position responsible for community health specific data collection, data entry and database management associated with a program or service. Responsible for implementing data collection tools as well as communicating and disseminating plans for gathering data and sharing outcomes. Community-based position focusing primarily on children and families throughout Milwaukee County.
 

This is an in-person position.

Minimum Job Requirements

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification

Driver’s license, insurance coverage

Education

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in public health, community health, or social sciences

Experience

A minimum of 3 years’ successful experience in program evaluation, research, or quality improvement in a community-based setting or organization and with populations who have experienced trauma.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision.

Familiarity with research protocols, questionnaires and written or phone surveys.

Demonstrated competence in both quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods.

Experience managing multiple projects at once, using culturally responsive practices, and multidisciplinary collaboration is required.

Knowledge of or familiarity with frameworks for program evaluations, especially in health care, community and public health and academic research settings.

Ability to train others in the methods of program evaluation, including design, data collection, data analysis, and reporting.

Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate clearly and concisely in a conference setting.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and conducts data gathering with children and families, including those who have been victims of violence; meeting in community locations and/or virtually as preferred by the family.
  • Communicates with the program staff and parents/caregivers regarding scheduling data collection sessions.
  • Enters qualitative and quantitative data into appropriately designed databases, engaging in regular audits and analysis with leaders and staff. Assists with database construction and database maintenance.
  • Designs and maintains appropriate formats for reporting and presenting data in collaboration with other staff of the research project, including program dashboards.
  •  Participate in case staffing or other team meetings to support data interpretation and translation of results.
  • Conducts and develops literature reviews related to educational research, evaluation, and assessment at the direction of the Vice President Community Health as needed for projects.
  • Supports development of evaluation plan; including but not limited to literature reviews, logic models, and guiding evaluation questions.
  • Assists with development of communication tools including but not limited to briefings, white papers, PowerPoint and poster presentations.
  • Maintains all necessary records for studies, manages correspondence as necessary.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Normal office environment where there is no reasonable potential for exposure to blood or other high risk body fluids.

Local travel for community-based visits.

Must maintain flexible schedule to meet requirements of job responsibilities.

Preferred Job Requirements

Experience

Experience conducting community visits, including home and school-based settings.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Demonstrated competence in data base software (including Redcap), case management software and Excel, preferred.
