Job Description

AHRC NYC is seeking a dedicated and motivated Program Enrollment Specialist to join our team in Staten Island.

The Program Enrollment Specialist will recruit qualified individuals across the five boroughs for the program. The role involves building relationships with community partners and funding sources to identify potential program applicants, serving as a liaison between referral sources and the program, and coordinating pre-screening and assessment of candidates. 

The ideal candidate has experience working with opportunity youth (e.g. out-of-school, unemployed, or at-risk youth), strong communication skills, and the ability to develop partnerships with schools and community-based organizations. 

Location: Staten Island

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30am

Salary: $50,000 per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and enroll youth into the GED program.
  • Conduct outreach and build referral relationships with schools, community-based organization and other youth-serving entities.
  • Collect and manage eligibility documents for program participants
  • Travel on average twice a week throughout the five boroughs to attend recruiting events and outreach activities
  • Utilize social media and other channels to engage and connect with youth.
  • Support program enrollment goals and meet deadlines for each recruitment cycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Professional experience working with opportunity youth, ages 17-24, preferred
  • Experience in program recruitment, enrollment and outreach
  • Social media marketing experience is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • NYS driver’s license preferred
