We are currently looking for a full-time Radiography Program Director. The Radiography Program Director is responsible for overseeing the functions of the department to include Radiography and Limited Medical Radiography (LMR) programs. This position is responsible for students across Louisville and Lexington locations. This position is based in Louisville and requires regular travel to the Lexington location throughout the quarter.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with administrators and other departments of the college, related clinical facilities, and community agencies to promote an optimal learning environment.
  • Participates in the preparation and administration of the Radiology and LMR Program Budget.
  • Recruits and screens candidates for faculty appointment, retention, and promotion for both programs.
  • Assesses and revises admission, retention and progression criteria for both programs.
  • Approves new students and re-entry students for admissions to both programs.
  • Routinely reviews, evaluates and revises program policies as necessary and supervise faculty and staff compliance.
  • Facilitates continuing academies and professional development of faculty.
  • Maintains experience and credentials in disciplines.
  • Coordinates Advisory Board meetings for both programs.
  • Guides the development and negotiations of contracts with clinical facilities.
  • Establishes student/ faculty ratios in the clinical practice experiences for both programs.
  • Maintains a system of records and reports to include enrolled and previously enrolled students, program meetings, faculty members, program development, plans and evaluations, equipment maintenance, and equipment licensure for both programs.
  • Routinely monitors program compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards for both programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Holds a minimum of a Master’s degree.
  • Holds a current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration in KY.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in related field plus 2 year's experience teaching in a JRCERT accredited program. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Must possess excellent leadership, customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently while meeting required deadlines.
  • Ability to function efficiently in a stressful work environment.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, as well as to move about the campus.
  • Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with students, faculty and staff face to face and via the telephone.

Skills Required

  • Meets minimum education requirements established by accreditation and programmatic approvals
  • Five years of experience in a related field
  • Experience teaching and/or administering in post-secondary education
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Leadership, customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a stressful environment
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods and move around campus
  • Ability to hear and speak adequately for in-person and telephone communication
