Position Overview

The Program Coordinator for the Global Arts and Humanities | Cross-Disciplinary Research Exchange will support the development and implementation of community-engaged programming, with a particular focus on initiatives aligned with the K–12 Teaching Institute Program.


Project Overview

The Global Arts + Humanities facilitates cross-disciplinary collaboration in the arts and humanities by providing support in the form of research and creative practice grants, graduate team and postdoctoral research fellowships and experiential teaching and learning grants. As part of GAH’s community-engaged portfolio, the K-12 Teaching Institute brings together elementary, middle and high school teachers from Central Ohio for an exploration of multidisciplinary approaches to understanding and teaching difficult subjects in America’s past and present


Administrative Support:

• Provide administrative support for program operations, including correspondence, fiscal

data management, purchasing, and vendor payments.

• Coordinate the preparation and distribution of program communications and

promotional materials, including digital and print newsletters, in collaboration with GAH

communications staff.

• Manage the procurement, preparation, and distribution of program materials for

participating educators.

• Maintain accurate program records, schedules, and other administrative documentation

to support the effective operation of the Institute.


Program Coordination:

• Coordinate K–12 Teaching Institute programming throughout the academic year,

including annual orientation events, classroom sessions, experiential learning

opportunities, and workshops. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, logistics,

and site coordination.

• Support outreach, marketing, and recruitment efforts, including coordinating and

leading information sessions with Central Ohio school districts and educators.

• Coordinate and schedule Institute meetings and related activities, ensuring effective

communication and follow-through among participants, instructors, partners, and GAH

staff.

• Participate in GAH committee and staff meetings, including Advisory Committee

meetings, and

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or combination of education and experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Higher education experience
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating educational programs, workshops, events, or community-engaged initiatives.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong administrative and operational skills, including recordkeeping, scheduling, procurement, purchasing, and fiscal tracking.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

 

Additional Information:

This is a part-time, 20-hour weekly, limited-term appointment of two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension (maximum three years total) based on exceptional performance and departmental needs.

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $21.59 - $25.75.  The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
