ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the general supervision of the Friendly Visiting Coordinator, the Program Assistant is responsible for assisting in all administrative/clerical tasks at the program. Additionally, the Program Assistant will assist with recruiting volunteers, client follow-ups, and outreach, while providing support for all programming at the Friendly Visiting Program. Specific duties and responsibilities include: 

 

  • Assist with the volunteer recruitment process i.e., screening, reference checks, etc.
  • Assist with monitoring calls to clients and volunteers as needed
  • Assist with data entry i.e., case notes, units, etc.
  • Assist with organizing, filing, copying, scanning, faxing, mailing, etc.
  • Assist with the coordination and expedition of volunteer recognition events.
  • Assist with volunteer outreach within and outside of the catchment area.
  • Assist in the collection of units of service from volunteers.
  • Other related duties as required by the Friendly Visiting Coordinator and Management.

  • Basic computer skills, abilities, and knowledge with the ability to learn database maintenance

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable with assigned work schedules and tasks

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related experience working with older adults preferred
