About This Opportunity

This is a significant academic leadership opportunity to shape the future of one of Australia’s leading business schools, globally recognised for excellence in research, transformative education, and deep industry engagement. As Head of the Business School, you will provide visionary academic and people leadership across a vibrant multidisciplinary environment spanning accounting, business information systems, finance, international business, management, marketing, strategy and entrepreneurship, and tourism.
Reporting to the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, you will set and enact a clear strategy that strengthens student demand while sustaining research excellence. Your leadership will drive the production of high-quality graduates with lasting global impact, while strengthening the School’s academic culture, operational effectiveness and long-term sustainability. You will balance external engagement with a strong focus on developing the School’s people, programs, research strengths and teaching excellence.
 

Leading a collegial team of over 260 academic and professional staff supporting more than 11,000 students you will have the scale and capability to shape the School’s future direction and build meaningful partnerships while embedding Indigenous engagement across disciplines. Working alongside ambitious colleagues at a world class university, you will be empowered to drive strategic change and lead a globally recognised business school into its next phase of growth, excellence and impact.

You are a respected academic leader with an international reputation in a discipline aligned with the School's strengths and a profile consistent with appointment at Academic Level E. As an accomplished researcher and educator, you bring a distinguished record of teaching and research and engagement, alongside a strategic mindset and a genuine appreciation of the role business education and research play in creating value for students, industry and society.
 

An inclusive and collaborative leader, you have demonstrated success leading complex academic environments, shaping positive organisational culture and developing high-performing teams. You balance academic excellence with financial sustainability, confidently leading people, operations and resources while building strong partnerships across the University, industry, government, professional bodies and First Nations communities to strengthen the School's reputation, impact and future success.
