Job Title: Production Technology Project Manager
Department: Disney Television Animation
Reports to: Vice President Technology
The Production Technology Project Manager (PTPM) is responsible for the portfolio of Technology-driven projects for the Animation Studio. The ideal candidate is a strong technologist and manager working directly with stakeholders on resource utilization and implementation goals. The PTPM is comfortable with code, able to oversee the development of complex systems, and an excellent communicator on technical topics.
This candidate is also a natural team builder with a motivating, unifying, and collaborative personality. This position works closely with the VP of Technology, multiple technology managers, Executive Studio Management, Producers, and studio artists across various disciplines to ensure final product success.
Responsibilities:
Develop a complete understanding of existing Project Designs and Goals.
- Design and schedule a roadmap for the implementation of Project Designs and Goals.
- Hold regular check-ins with the: System Engineering, SRE, Software Development, Media and Support teams to ensure the project roadmaps stay on track.
- Assure that regular testing of features and workflows to ensure they adhere to those described in the Project Designs and Goals.
- Hold regular check-ins with Stakeholders: Studio Executives, Producers, and artists to demo and solicit feedback on implementation and workflows.
- Create additional design documents or visual aids for clarity as needed.
- Promote a positive, productive, and highly collaborative work environment.
- Be the catalyst for a rapid and continuous iteration feedback loop between all departments.
- Regular reporting on project statuses.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with professional project management and software development management.
- Exceptional and demonstrable organizational skills in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and digitally. Able to create diagrams, tables, schedules, and spreadsheets as needed to facilitate understanding between all departments.
- Very comfortable with Gitlab or Git revision control, including CI/CD concepts.
- Familiarity with Web-based software development is a plus.
- Familiarity with UNIX shell scripting is a plus.
- Video Game or Animation industry experience is a plus.
- PMP Certification is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Project Management, or equivalent industry experience required.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $155,700 - $208,700 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job Posting Segment:
