Job Purpose:

The Production Team Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the final product is compliant with all the company’s quality standards which includes the reliability, usability, and performance of the product. The Team Coordinator should be knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures associated with the industry and company standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safety – maintain a safe work environment through training, adherence to policies, and housekeeping.

  • Inspection activities that include using a pi table, micrometer, and ovality gauges.

  • Effectively leading, monitoring, and assisting a team of 15-25 personnel.

  • Efficiency in performing the inspection and quality process.

  • The detection and assisting in the resolutions pertaining to the quality of the product.

  • Investigating any product deemed non-conforming.

  • Ability to adjust the extrusion process including but not limited to, wall thickness, barrel and die temperatures, and diameter adjustments.

  • Ability to maintain maintenance on the line, including but not limited to, the cleaning of vents.

  • Ability to string product in the extrusion process.

  • Ability to change straight product into belled product.

  • Ability to start-up a cell core line independently and all activities related to the process.

  • Ability to make all printer adjustments including but not limited to, adjustment of print and color changes.

  • Ability to run the wall monitoring systems which includes but not limited to, material changes and product adjustments.

  • Participate in the start-up and shutdown of all lines.

  • Participate in the change-over process of products.

  • Collaborate and assist with production material trials and new products.

  • Monitor and maintain output and run conditions to specified standards. Complete proper documentation and quality requirements.

  • Build a comprehensive knowledge of the operation, safety features, and process steps.

  • Participate and delegate duties to respective team members.

  • Verifying the efficiency in performing the inspection and quality process including checking computer entries.

  • Ability to collaborate with the production management team, production supervisors, team coordinators, and operators.

  • Competency in board building and grinding.

  • Competence in all C, B and A level duties and responsibilities.

  • Train and instruct operators of all levels.

  • Competence in all team coordinator roadmap activities and skills.

  • Other duties as delegated.

Complexity and Judgement:

Regularly encounter problems that involve multiple-choice options, but through prior exposure, experience and established procedures/policies can determine the most appropriate course of action. Work involves both routine and non-routine tasks within well-defined standards.

Skills, Knowledge and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • 1-4 years’ experience as operator level A preferred.

  • Experience working with pi table, micrometer, and ovality gauges preferred.

  • Experience using hand tools.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Excellent leading abilities including interpersonal skills, time-management, and delegation skills.

  • Verbal and written communication skills.

Pay & Shift:

  • $31.09 starting hourly rate

  • 9am-9pm rotating day shift

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to lift 40 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, lift, and perform for long periods.

  • The ability to wear all required PPE: safety toe footwear, hi-vis top, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions

Contacts:

The incumbent interacts daily with the manager, team coordinator, and operations personnel. Daily interaction may be required with the process manager, MSG manager, quality assurance manager, production manager, assistant plant manager and plant manager. Occasional contact may be required with other plant departments.

Working Conditions:

The physical effort required is considerable due to heavy physical activities of various kinds. The physical environment is considered moderate due to exposure to various substances or equipment this includes moving machinery, repetitive motions, noise, powered industrial equipment. Regular work is performed in a non-controlled temperature environment. These exposures could produce discomfort and/or moderate risk of accident or ill health. The sensory attention is considered moderate due to often requiring increased demand on two or more senses at a time. The mental stress is considered moderate due to regular pressures from deadlines, quotas, and accuracy.
