Role Description

The Corporate Bank primarily serves Treasurers and Finance Departments of Corporate and Commercial clients, as well as Financial Institutions worldwide.   • Within Corporate Bank Production, you will operate as a Production Support Engineer in the Data Controls domain.
  • This role involves solving complex problems, analyzing large datasets, and gaining expertise in Transaction Monitoring functions. As a core team member, you will help ensure data integrity, accuracy, and completeness for effective transaction monitoring and filtering.
  • Your expertise in data analysis, management, and technology is essential for interpreting large datasets, meeting regulatory standards, and improving Transaction Monitoring alert quality. Data Controls play a crucial role in daily reconciliation of all payments and related transactions, ensuring complete information reaches the Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) team. This is achieved through the EAP & GCP platform or a direct tactical feed.
  • TMDC / TFDC controls handle day-to-day tasks such as reviewing and investigating non-STP (not Straight Through Processed) transactions for accuracy, resolving anomalies, and working with technology teams to fix any issues. Any anomalies discovered are reported to managers and stakeholders, including the AFC team.
  • The role includes preparing analytics and reports that bolster control processes, maintaining high data quality, and delivering insights to management via dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs). The team also conducts quality assurance checks to support both operational and technical goals.
  • A major objective is to deliver comprehensive, high-quality transaction data to strengthen the AFC program. This requires rolling out a new global Transaction Monitoring (TM) and Transaction Filtering (TF) process across more than 33 countries.

Your key responsibilities

  • Acting as a Production Support Engineer for the CB production team providing second level of support for the applications under the tribe working with key stakeholders and team members across the globe in 365 days, 24/7 working model
  • Ensure all the BAU support queries from business are handled on priority and within agreed SLA and to ensure all application stability issues are well taken care off.
  • Support the resolution of incidents and problems within the team. Assist with the resolution of complex incidents. Ensure that the right problem-solving techniques and processes are applied
  • Work closely with developers and architects to debug and implement solutions that meet business needs whilst ensuring that solutions are scalable, supportable and sustainable.
  • Thinking analytically, with systematic and logical approach to solving complex problems with a and high attention to detail
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including requirements, process flows, and user guides. Ensure that documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders
  • Be the voice of the customer when interacting with the development teams to ensure delivery is aligned to business requirements and expectations,
  • Leading and collaborating across teams do run with and deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Employing data querying and analytical techniques to support the understanding of data and creation of reports and actionable intelligence.
  • Embrace a Continuous Service Improvement approach to resolve IT failings, drive efficiencies and remove repetition to streamline support activities, reduce risk, and improve system availability.
  • Act as a Production Engineering role model to enhance the technical capability of the Production Support teams to create a future operating model embedded with engineering culture
  • Train and Mentor team members to grow to the next role.
  • Bring in the culture of innovation engineering and automation mindset
  • Lead by example to drive a culture of proactive continual improvement into the Production environment through automation of manual work, monitoring improvements and platform hygiene.
  • Works with team members to identify areas of focus, where training may improve team performance, and improve incident resolution.

Your skills and experience

  • Good hands-on knowledge of databases (Oracle/PLSQL etc.), including working experience of writing SQL / PL SQL scripts and queries.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving experience and ability to independently identify issues grasp new concepts, provide insights and solutions and oversee their delivery.
  • Advanced knowledge of methods and tooling for business functional analysis
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, R), ideally in a Cloud or Big Data environment,
  • Understanding of the payments industry, payments systems, data and protocols as well as SWIFT messaging
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and strong experience authoring documents that will support development work.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to perform business analysis in consultation with the business and product management and produce BRDs and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on project experience of handling complex business requirement (i.e. Data Mapping, Data Modelling, Data Migration, and System integration) through to system level functional specifications
