Lead and coach production floor personnel to meet safety, quality, and on-time production goals. Drive continuous improvement (5S, KPIs, waste reduction), coordinate with maintenance and other departments, analyze production data, train and mentor hourly employees, and maintain performance boards and production reporting.

Primary responsibilities are to provide leadership to the production personnel on the operating floor and excellence in the demonstration of the commitment to our safety and quality initiatives at our Wilmington, NC plant.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for coaching, training, and developing direct reports in safety, quality, production, problem solving, and technical skills involved in the operation of the production floor. The Production Supervisor is responsible for communicating and working with other department managers, the Production team, and Customer Service to ensure quality and on-time production goals are met. 

MUST HAVE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Five or more years in a leadership experience
  • Previous supervisor in a manufacturing or corrugated industry preferred
  • Customer service-related experience; or equivalent training and experience in other plant operations
  • Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and work in a team environment essential
  • Basic computer experience (word processing, Excel and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities:

  • Works with Safety to support excellence within the plant
  • Achieve quality initiatives by leading processes to ensure lowest cost and best quality – KPI’s
  • Minimizing waste within the department by driving awareness, training, and accountability
  • Drive the 5s Initiatives / housekeeping
  • Drive maximum throughput within the department by increasing uptimes and production speeds
  • Work with the Maintenance team to maintain machine cleanliness, PM schedules, and work orders.
  • Participate in new item meetings with customer service, design, sales, and production.
  • Review and analyze production reporting for accuracy.
  • Coach and develop employees to maximize effectiveness.
  • Trains and mentor hourly employees to achieve production goals.
  • Analyzes daily, weekly, and monthly production statistics for production to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Maintains Performance boards daily.
  • Performs other related duties as required/assigned
