Position Summary:

The Production Supervisor will oversee all production activities during the shift, managing a team of production workers, ensuring adherence to production schedules, and maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in HVAC production, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

1st Shift Schedule: 5:30 am - 3:00 pm M - Th, 6:00 am - 10:00 am F

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of production operators, technicians, and assembly workers, ensuring they are focused and efficient in their roles.
  • Production Management: Ensure production schedules are met and that all products are manufactured in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections and audits of finished products to ensure they meet required quality standards. Address any defects or issues to maintain high levels of product quality.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict safety policies and procedures on the production floor. Ensure that all workers are trained on proper safety protocols and that they adhere to OSHA standards.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Address and resolve production issues such as machine malfunctions, material shortages, and delays to minimize downtime and keep production moving smoothly.
  • Process Improvement: Lead efforts to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and implement best practices in manufacturing. Identify areas for continuous improvement in workflow, equipment, and team performance.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production data, including output, quality metrics, machine performance, and any operational issues encountered during the shift.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Maintenance, Quality Control, and Supply Chain, to resolve issues and ensure seamless production processes.
  • Employee Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members to enhance skills and ensure adherence to manufacturing standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a production environment
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and components, with experience in assembly, metalworking, or fabrication
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and best practices for maintaining a safe working environment
  • Proficient in the use of manufacturing equipment, ERP systems, and other production-related software

Preferred:

  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and managing high-volume production environments

Key Competencies:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and other departments
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of production staff to meet objectives in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and decision-making skills to address production issues and prevent delays
