As the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing production operations through proper employee training, efficient planning, staging a work-to-production schedule, and effective assignment of work ensuring production orders are completed within our quality specifications and on time. The right candidate will provide leadership, guidance, and supervision of employees. This person will contribute through value-added activities in quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, and process improvement. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Maintaining a safe environment for all employees and ensuring everyone is working safely 

  • Directing employees to complete production orders to the schedule in a timely and quality manner 

  • Ensuring employees are properly trained and working safely 

  • Staging production to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective processing of orders 

  • Report as finished throughout the day

  • Identifying ways to improve work methods and implementing those changes 

  • Ensuring work areas are well-organized, tools and fixtures are working properly, and areas are free of safety hazards 

  • Coaching and providing employees with regular feedback and completing quarterly evaluations on a timely basis 

  • Understanding and applying company policies consistently 

  • Performing quality assurance checks throughout the department 

  • Other duties and project work as assigned 

Qualifications

KEY COMPETENCIES: 

  • Keeps immediate supervisor informed of important matters which must be handled at that level, with emphasis on critical incidents related to employee safety and security. 

  • Contributes to a cooperative working effort by demonstrating a willingness to perform other job-related work, as needed or requested. 

  • Decision-making and authority is exercised with good judgment, recognizing when others must be involved. 

  • Shows initiative in gaining and maintaining the skills, abilities, and knowledge required to perform this position in at least a fully qualified and satisfactory manner.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, required. 

  • Two years demonstrated supervisory, leadership, training, and coaching experience, required. 

  • Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities with frequent interruptions. 

  • Successful completion of a forklift driving test and the material handler written exam, provided. 

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills to all levels of the organization. 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office. 

  • Experience with MRP systems. 

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.) 

  • Must be able to communicate face-to-face and over the phone 

  • Lifting up to 40 lbs, unassisted 

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking, as well as occasional bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing, pushing/pulling, and reaching above shoulder level 

  • Work environment includes noise >85db as well as frequent exposure to hot and cold temperatures in the manufacturing facility 

  • Requires ability to read, write, calculate, and reason
