Now Hiring - Production Supervisor
 

The Production Supervisor leads all facets of Sensus meter production, driving safety, quality, and efficiency on the shop floor. This hands-on leader directs and develops the production team, ensures flawless execution of manufacturing processes, and champions continuous improvement. With a focus on best practices and strict regulatory compliance, the supervisor keeps operations running at peak performance while delivering results that meet and exceed expectations.

Shift: Night shift 6PM - 6AM on a 2-2-3 schedule

Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership: 30+ direct Reports

  • Provide guidance and direction to production team

  • Lead and motivate team to meet production goals

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback

  • Identify and address any issues or conflicts within the team

Production Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop and implement production schedules

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth production flow

  • Analyze production data and make recommendations for improvements

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any production related issues

Quality Control:

  • Ensure products meet company quality standards

  • Conduct quality inspections and audits

  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures

  • Address any quality issues or concerns in a timely manner

Budget and Cost Management:

  • Monitor and control production costs

  • Identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements

  • Prepare and track production budgets

  • Make recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Communicate production updates and issues to upper management

  • Provide regular reports on production progress and performance

  • Coordinate with other departments for product launches or changes

  • Maintain open and clear communication with production team members.

Team Management:

  • Understand team dynamics and effective management practices. Supervisors should be adept at balancing individual tasks with overseeing team performance.

  • Conflict Resolution: Ability to address conflicts within the team professionally and constructively.

  • Motivational Skills: Inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best.

Adaptability:

  • Supervisors often encounter changing priorities and unexpected challenges. Being adaptable and flexible is crucial.

  • Decision Making: Make informed decisions based on organizational goals and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma with at least 4 years of industry experience, 1+ year experience as a people manager or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.

  • In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices.

  • Experience with developing and implementing inventory management policies and procedures.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and systems.

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 to $65,000.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
