The role of Production Supervisor will be responsible for Minnesota operation and is someone who will help us set the stage for the next phase of growth. If you want a chance to influence something from the ground up, this is your chance.

Nextern is searching for a high impact, driven individual who can adhere to our company principles and all safety, environmental, security, and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, company policies and operating procedures, and other regulatory requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides direction in the resolution of technical and production-related problems to assure completion of weekly schedules that meet or exceed Company and Customer expectations.
  • Monitors the alignment of product or line(s) with master production schedule and material planning to meet production goals.
  • Monitors departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports.
  • Implements Lean manufacturing methodologies including but not limited to, standard work, 5S, visual management, and value stream mapping.
  • Ensures work orders are closed in Epicor and data is accurate.
  • Supervises Associates in a manner that fosters a safe work environment and self-directed team approach.
  • Provides continuous communication to management on production, facility and Associate accomplishments and/or concerns.
  • Facilitates communication, coordination and conflict resolution within and among work groups.
  • Provides leadership to Associates in all areas including: hiring, performance management, coaching, counseling and corrective actions.
  • Leads in the analysis of production and related processes and makes recommendations on improvements and organization of process improvement activity through the application of Six-Sigma & Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Promotes an atmosphere of diversity, open communication and trust, affording opportunities for training and growth.
  • Remains flexible to the needs of the business and performs other functions as required.
  • Perform other functions as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
    • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, safety issues and resolving problems.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Experience:
    • 2-7 years manufacturing experience with progressive responsibilities and leadership experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maximize asset utilization required
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in management of production schedules, reading technical documents and working in medical device manufacturing
    • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Quality systems
