JOB SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor coordinates and supports daily filling and packaging operations through a combination of hands-on floor leadership, team coordination, and operational oversight. This role works closely alongside production personnel while also managing departmental organization, staffing coordination, workflow execution, performance accountability, and administrative responsibilities that support efficient, compliant, and high-quality operations. The Production Supervisor helps maintain clear communication, consistent expectations, strong team performance, and effective day-to-day coordination across assigned department(s).

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports to: Production Manager

Supervises: Filling and Packaging Employees

Working Hours: Full time, M – F, 8:00 AM – 5PM

Starting Salary:  $67,000 – $74,000 annually 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Production Supervisor is responsible for performing the following essential functions in alignment with Company standards, values, and goals:

Individual Contribution & Development

  • Coordinate and support the daily operations within assigned department(s).
  • Collect and use departmental data and metrics to inform decisions and improve performance.
  • Coordinate filling and packaging workflows, staffing assignments, material readiness, equipment setup, and daily production priorities to support operational efficiency and order completion.
  • Oversee preparation, organization, and availability of production materials, equipment, inventory, work orders, and related operational resources.
  • Support fulfillment and shipment preparation activities to ensure completed work is accurate, organized, and ready for distribution.
  • Support operational planning and continuous improvement efforts by monitoring department activity, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending workflow, organizational, or cost-saving improvements.

Group Contribution & Collaboration

  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with team members to model best practices, maintain team momentum, and actively contribute to output, especially during high-demand periods or complex runs.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to support coordinated operations.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of each role within assigned department(s) and provide support or coverage when needed.

Compliance & Quality

  • Maintain strict oversight of regulatory compliance within assigned department(s) to achieve the highest possible ratings on Company audits, inspections, and reviews.
  • Monitor and enforce employee adherence to Company policies and established workplace expectations.
  • Monitor filling and packaging operations throughout each shift to ensure products meet Company quality, regulatory, customer-specific, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment through ongoing oversight of work areas, materials, equipment, and operational practices.
  • Track, verify, and maintain accurate department records and reporting related to production activity, performance metrics, inventory, quality checks, attendance, and timekeeping.

Leadership & Influence

  • Develop direct reports through regularly scheduled 1:1 performance check-ins and fair and timely mid-year and year-end performance reviews.
  • Foster a team culture that reflects professionalism, open communication, collaboration, and strong performance.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and day-to-day management of direct reports, and support broader team staffing and onboarding efforts within assigned department(s).
  • Conduct staff meetings and ongoing team communication to share updates, reinforce expectations, address concerns, and support coordinated operations.

In addition to the essential functions listed above, the Production Supervisor may be asked to perform other duties as assigned. Fee Brothers’ team-oriented environment requires flexibility and adaptability to meet changing demands and expectations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The ideal Production Supervisor has the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of related work experience, training, and/or education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or coordinating manufacturing, production, packaging, warehouse, or other operational workflows in a hands-on environment.
  • Practical experience overseeing or directing the work of employees in a production, manufacturing, logistics, or operational setting.
  • Hands-on experience working alongside operational teams while balancing administrative, organizational, and workflow coordination responsibilities.
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance, quality standards, production documentation, inventory tracking, or operational recordkeeping within a manufacturing or operational environment.

The ideal Production Supervisor has the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Manufacturing Workflow & Production Coordination: Strong understanding of filling, packaging, and production workflow dynamics, including the ability to maintain operational flow, material readiness, and department organization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Operational Quality Oversight: Strong understanding of manufacturing compliance expectations, quality standards, inspection readiness, and operational control practices needed to maintain consistent and compliant production operations.
  • Production Resource & Inventory Awareness: Ability to maintain awareness of production materials, equipment, inventory movement, and operational resource needs to support efficient workflow execution and minimize disruption.
  • Operational Judgment & Floor Presence: Demonstrates sound judgment and situational awareness in balancing hands-on production involvement with oversight responsibilities, shifting priorities, and real-time operational needs.
  • Performance Accountability & Workforce Coordination: Ability to reinforce workplace expectations, monitor team performance and productivity, and maintain consistent operational accountability across daily production activities.
  • Planning, Organization & Problem-Solving: Ability to prioritize daily tasks, coordinate work, identify issues, and implement practical solutions that maintain efficient workflow and support continuous improvement.
  • Hands-On Leadership, Development & Conflict Management: Ability to lead by example through active participation in daily work, provide real-time direction and coaching, develop team members, and proactively address and resolve conflicts to maintain a respectful and productive work environment.
  • Technology Utilization: Ability to effectively and securely use and adapt to digital tools and workplace technology to support daily operations, team planning, accurate recordkeeping and data tracking, and interdepartmental coordination and communication.
  • Professionalism & Resilience: Demonstrates a consistently professional demeanor while maintaining composure, accountability, and sound judgment under pressure and through changing conditions.
