Production Supervisor
Position Purpose/Mission
Lead employees and operations to ensure a quality product is produced and delivered to the customer in a timely and efficient manner. This role is responsible for establishing and executing strong day-to-day practices and plans that support a safe, efficient manufacturing operation. The Production Supervisor also plays a key role in developing, training, and mentoring employees to encourage growth and skill development, while motivating and engaging the team to achieve both employee and business objectives. This position actively supports and promotes company goals and culture.
Schedule
Shift: Night Shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
Schedule: 3-2-2-3 rotation
Work 3 days → Off 2 → Work 2 → Off 3
Every other weekend is a 3-day weekend

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Five plus years’ experience in a related industry, or a combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills or supervisor training classes.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, delegate, follow up, provide constructive feedback and coaching.
Demonstrated team skills in leading and participating in cross functional teams.
Ability to proactively work with and collaborate cross functionally with other departments and shifts.
Proven verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels and departments of the business.
Self-motivated with a strong sense of personal accountability.
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
Possess a strong aptitude for managing multiple tasks and assignments with a sense of urgency.
Understand and use the basic features of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Metallurgy or related degree.
Three plus years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
Experienced in application of Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Strong analytical skills to gather data from multiple sources and report findings - Business specific, please retain in Preferred or move to Minimum Qualifications at time of posting.
Trained in Continuous Improvement, Green or Black Belt Certification in Six Sigma discipline, and Lean methodologies.
Proficient in the advanced features of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Key Responsibilities
- Foster a culture of trust, teamwork, safety, and Continuous Improvement.
- Promote responsibility, high expectations, and open communication with production employees, production management, and support teams.
- Consistently manage employees in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and teams.
- Drive plant productivity and support achievement of annual production goals, including quality and waste/scrap reduction.
- Oversee the production process and partner with supporting departments to meet production targets.
- Supervise production employees in a manner that respects both individuals and teams, with an emphasis on personal growth and development.
- Work with operational leadership to identify department, employee, and shift training needs.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and hourly compensation reviews.
- Support a strong safety culture by promoting safety-focused behaviors and educating employees on safety policies and procedures.
- Follow Environmental, Quality, and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
