In this position...

You will oversee production within the assembly area of our powertrain center, serving as the frontline driver of operational excellence. You will coach and empower team members to achieve Safety, Quality, and Productivity objectives by adhering to standardized work and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

The primary responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:

  • Coach team members on Safety, Quality, and Productivity to ensure objectives are met by adhering to standardized work.
  • Optimize production throughput in alignment with budget and cost objectives.
  • Monitor ANDON (a system to notify production issues) occurrences and serve as the initial responder for secondary support.
  • Verify the production line's safe and smooth operation, and its output of quality parts, through Process Confirmation.
  • Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) initiatives and coach problem resolution at the lowest possible level.
  • Meet targets for First Time Through (FTT), inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expenses.
    Build the capability of both Team Leaders and Team Members.
  • Create a conducive work environment that enables teams to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks.
  • Ensure effective communication and recognition within the team.
  • Perform basic administration of supervisory duties and documentation.
Qualifications

You'll Have...

  • High School Diploma.
  • Able to work all shifts, including nights and on weekends as needed. 
  • At least 3 years’ experience in large manufacturing enterprises.
  • Proficient in using office software.
  • Excellent data analysis ability.
  • Strong sense of ownership and critical thinking skills.
  • Cross functional project management experience, with the ability to work independently and as a team on complex tasks. 

Even better, you may have…

  • Associates' or Bachelor's Degree in industrial engineering, management science and engineering related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in large manufacturing enterprises (materials, electronics, automotive and other industries).
  • A deep understanding of assembly line flow, precision components, and the specific nuances of transmission or e-transaxle production.
  • Mastery of standardized work, 5S, and the ability to maintain discipline within a Lean environment.
  • A keen eye for detail to verify that the line is running safely and producing parts that meet strict quality specifications.
  • Experience using data to drive continuous improvement in throughput, cost reduction, and scrap elimination.
  • The ability to stay calm and decisive when the ANDON system triggers, acting as the first line of support to get the line moving again.
  • Proficiency in tools like the "3-Legged 5 Whys" or Fishbone diagrams to ensure quality issues don't recur.

This position is a salary grade 6 or salary grade 7 and ranges from $72,480-$141,360.
