Supervises production operators and coordinates operation of the Department to meet production goals and objectives. Perform the primary thinking encompassed by this job description. Comply with all Company policies and procedures. Fully support Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors operation of equipment and supervises personnel to produce premium quality product that meets customer specifications.
Serves as acting supervisor to maintenance craftsmen during nights, holidays and weekend hours.
Consults with operators on general operating problems and reviews the level of accuracy and degree to which assigned duties are performed.
Coordinates production and maintenance to accomplish the upkeep and repairs to equipment including initiation of necessary work orders.
Maintains records, logs and forms that pertain to equipment and personnel, including those pertinent to the facility ISO 9001 certification.
Monitors plant operations to comply with local, State and Federal environmental regulations.
Recognizes potential safety and environmental problems and implements procedures and training to achieve sound operations.
Conducts necessary training to achieve improved production and personal growth.
Communicates with other units concerning feedstock and consumables.
Performs special projects as assigned and other coordinating activities as required to provide cost-effective operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
*High School graduate. Additional education/training preferred. Four years progressive operating/supervisory experience including knowledge and skills related to operating functions within a chemical plant facility.
