Your Role at Allison
As an Operations Supervisor, you’ll lead a team of employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll be responsible for fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture while ensuring operational excellence through established manufacturing processes.
Operations Supervisor Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll lead a production team to meet safety, quality, and performance goals while building a positive and supportive work environment.
Supervise a team of hourly employees in a manufacturing environment, ensuring daily goals for safety, quality, productivity, responsiveness, and cost are met.
Build a culture of engagement by providing clear communication, supportive coaching, meaningful recognition, and transparent expectations.
Support team development by managing training, performance feedback, and improvement plans.
Monitor labor, resources, and equipment to drive efficiency and ensure on-time production.
Communicate key updates between shifts and across departments to ensure seamless handovers and alignment.
Promote a respectful, inclusive work environment and support employee relations in accordance with company policy and any applicable labor agreements.
Maintain and report production metrics using digital tools and shop floor performance boards.
Lead daily operations using Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence principles.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies while actively promoting a clean and safe workplace.
Serve as the go-to resource for resolving scheduling needs, addressing concerns, and supporting day-to-day team operations.
Collaborate across departments and support change management initiatives that align with business goals.
What You Bring to the Team
You bring a continuous improvement mindset and a steady leadership style that supports teams in hitting production goals while building a strong workplace culture. With strong communication skills, a passion for problem-solving, and a dedication to team motivation, you help drive results. You balance technical knowledge with people management skills to drive operational success.
Required
Associate degree OR equivalent experience in manufacturing, operations, or logistics.
1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
0–2 years’ experience with team supervision or leadership.
Willingness and ability to work any assigned shift.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
3+ years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
Experience working in a unionized setting.
