Job Description

Role: Production Supervisor

Job Summary: Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates all aspects of safety, quality, production, and personnel on the assigned shift. This role ensures production targets and deadlines are met safely while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. The Production Supervisor provides leadership, coaching, and support to the shift team and drives continuous improvement across production processes.

Job Responsibilities 

  • Ensure employees perform work safely and efficiently in compliance with regulatory and company policies

  • Supervise and support assigned shift personnel to meet production and quality standards

  • Plan and manage shift scheduling for the production team

  • Provide manufacturing leadership, including employee discipline and performance management

  • Apply lean tools and techniques to improve existing processes and maintain departmental documentation

  • Identify training needs, coach employees, and support individual development plans

  • Conduct training, cross-training, and rotation of employees across roles

  • Ensure employee training on procedures related to safety, production, and quality

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations and conduct safety inspections

  • Lead weekly crew meetings to communicate safety, quality, and production updates

  • Evaluate team member performance and support skill development

  • Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods and equipment performance

  • Operate within SOPs and Quality procedures

  • Identify and resolve production issues and assist in addressing quality concerns

  • Investigate and report safety near-misses, accidents, and hazard identifications

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

  • Collaborate with other production supervisors to ensure operational consistency

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in industrial technology, engineering, business administration, or management preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  • Supervisory experience in high-speed, continuous process manufacturing is an asset

  • Experience with continuous improvement tools such as TQM, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills for managing diverse teams

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

  • Proven track record of operational improvements through employee engagement and team building

  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Knowledge of Workday time and attendance system is an asset
