Job Description

Working Environment:

  • Spends 75% of time in shop-floor environment.
  • Exposed to possible shop hazards, which may include high noise, heavy equipment and machinery, temperature extremes and shop traffic.

     

    **Major Responsibilities:**

    • Actively participate and sustain high level of Lean Management.
    • Plans and leads the activities in the production workshop.
    • Risk Management, Incident Investigation & Preventive measures.
    • Assists supervisor in monitoring and resolving matters related to production operations.
    • Manages work order priorities and manpower schedules according to requirements and timelines.
    • Ensures department Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost output goals are met.
    • Provides training, motivation, guidance and communication to team members to develop competent, disciplined, safe and quality conscious team.
    • Co-ordinates with maintenance and upgrade of machine tools to meet organisational objectives.
    • Co-ordinates with internal stakeholders to optimise manufacturing process and queue times.
    • Initiates improvement plans and cost savings.
    • Responsible for record-keeping and for team member performance appraisals and work goal meetings.
    • Leads with limited autonomy after establishment of overall direction with immediate supervisor.
    • Establishes employee objectives and carries out disciplinary action and reward as required.
    • Assists in driving the team to meet on-time delivery.
    • Resolves routine queries and problems independently.
    • Reviews employee timeclock hours.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Diploma or NITEC in related field.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skill
  • Good knowledge in workplace safety procedures
  • Five to seven years of experience in Production or Manufacturing environment
  • Strong PC skill in Microsoft office applications.
  • Experience in lead/supervisory role is preferred
  • SAP experience is preferred

Training Requirements:

  • Metalworking Safety Orientation Course (MSOC)
  • Basic Industrial Safety and Health course (BISH)
  • Basic Health Environment & Safety (BHEST).
  • Standard Operating Procedures.
