Wieland is hiring a Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for Supervising hourly production employees and for all technical and manufacturing processes.  This role is located inBuffalo, NY and will be fully on-site. 


Base Salary Range: $87,000-$115,000

Shift: 4 Day Rotating Swing shift 

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities

Production Supervisor Responsibilities:

  • On-shift coordination of hourly production team members. Directing team as needed during the shift.
  • Ensure all team members working safely.
  • Utilize labor hours efficiently when operations at a machine station are not running.
  • Identify operation deficiencies and trouble shoot solutions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Partner with maintenance team to swiftly correct problems as necessary
  • Ensure optimum employee relations atmosphere through participative management, proactive identification of opportunities to better support our team members, and by adhering to the CBA rules and company policies.
  • Ensure proper training and qualifications in place to utilize equipment.
  • Ensure record-keeping is up to date.
  • Work effectively with scheduling and planning to ensure good workflow through operations, and customer orders are met.
  • Maintain exceptionally good housekeeping and continuously improve the orderliness of work area.
  • Ensure efficient and frequent monitoring of recipes, alloys, samples, laboratory work, chemistries, and other scientific testing to ensure production is safe, accurate, and within required specifications.
  • Work closely with metals, supplier-departments, and customer-departments in your value chain to ensure optimum staging and utilization of material flow through the facility.

Production Supervisor Qualifications:

  • Participate in continuous improvement of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, 9001, IATF 16949 programs and procedures though active participation in the near miss program.
  • Handles containerizing and labeling universal wastes including batteries and lamps, as well as spent aerosol cans(HW).
  • BS degree in business or related technical field
  • 5 years manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related technical field
  • Five years of manufacturing supervisory experience
  • Six Sigma certification
  • Participation in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 programs and procedures
