Brief Job Description:
We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing facility in Anderson, SC. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will lead multiple production teams and help drive a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations, developing and motivating employees, and ensuring production goals are achieved efficiently and effectively. Success in this role requires strong leadership and communication skills, experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to use key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational results and team performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets are achieved.
- Supervise, coach and develop production employees to drive performance, accoutability and employee engagement.
- Monitor and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including safety, productivity, quality, schedule attainment, etc.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste and improve operational performance.
- Coordinate with Production Management, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehousing to meet production schedule and customer requirements.
- Communicate production priorities, performance expectations, and business objectives to employees in a clear and consistent manner.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety procedures and quality standards.
- Conduct performance discussions, attendance reviews, corrective actions, and employee coaching sessions in partnership with Human Resources.
- Support workforce planning activities, including training, onboarding, scheduling and cross-training of employees
- Promote a positive work environment that values safety, teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Required/ Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ Years of leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar environment.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and production performance metrics
- Strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and production reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in relevant field.
- Experience in a high volume or high growth manufacturing environment.
- Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma or similar operations excellence experience.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to work in the a manufacturing environment, including exposure to machinery, noise, varying temperatures and production activities.
- Ability to wear required PPE including safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and other equipment as needed.
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended period of time and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
