Position Overview
The supervisor has the most pivotal role in the organization. They are to serve as the bridge between the management team and the production staff. The supervisor is responsible for all activities and production that occur during their shift – to include: Employee Safety, Product Quality, Line Operation, Shift Staffing, Shift Discipline, Gathering Metrics and ensuring performance to set metrics. It is the responsibility of the shift supervisor to ensure that the production manager is made aware of any and all production / personnel issues that have / are occurring. The assistant supervisor is the most second senior leader on the production staff. Their top priorities are employee safety, product quality and satisfying production metrics.
Essential Job Functions
- All safety regulations must be observed
- Ensure that established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ISO regulations and safety standards are strictly followed.
- Responsible for accurate and complete production records
- Ensure that the appropriate raw materials are being utilized on all lines by reading and interpreting job orders
- Responsible for the general cleanliness and organization of the plant floor
- Responsible for providing direction for all production personnel
- Responsible for quality of all product that is being manufactured. Taking and documenting measurements.
- Responsible for ensuring that all work areas are clean / organized / no product or raw materials are on the floor / all resin containers are labeled and covered at all times.
- Ability to train all employees on equipment and process
- Willingness to support all personnel in maintaining all extrusion lines
- Ensure that unused equipment is stored in the proper location
- Provide daily / weekly / monthly shift performance metrics data
- Act as the point of contact for all IT related issues
- Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the ink room
Non-essential Job Functions
- Support preventative and demand maintenance activity
Requirements
- Ability to lift 30 lbs consistently and higher occasionally.
- Ability to work on a rotating 12 hour shift schedule (day / night)
- Experience as a packer / mixer / lead operator
- Basic math skills to complete calculation and measurement of product.
- Basic computer skills to input data / interface with Material Management Systems
