Essential Functions
- Communicate/Coordinate/Supervise department’s daily work tasks to meet requirements and objectives;
- Train lead persons in all job requirements, including supervisory responsibilities;
- Ensure that all employees in the department are trained and understand the process to be fully qualified to perform the job;
- Work with department managers to plan work and allocate labor to fulfill operations needs within scheduled shift and minimizing need for overtime. Ensure proper staffing for area of responsibility in order to meet daily schedule;
- Coordinate with Maintenance team to ensure equipment are properly functioning to minimize any unplanned downtime;
- Confers with Management, HR, and employees on departmental problems, and recommends changes or work practices to improve department standards;
- Tracks KPIs and compiles required reports, i.e. MOS, daily tier/huddle meetings, etc.;
- Lead problem solving process to resolve deficiencies within the department. Implement action plan and track all steps taken to completion.
- With guidance from CI organization, participate or lead continuous improvement projects, as needed.
- Audit and complete daily timesheets and scheduled time off for employees in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure that employees adhere to company policies and work rules.
- Coach, develop, and provide continuous feedback to employees. Conduct employee performance evaluations as scheduled.
- Conduct disciplinary actions of department employees in coordination with the Human Resources Department.
- Represent Department at company meetings, functions and/or activities.
- Ensure department meets safety/food safety requirements in daily work
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma, GED equivalency or knowledge within the food industry equivalent to such education. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years in a supervisory role within a food processing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- HACCP certification
- Knowledge of USDA regulations
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
