Objective
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily swine production operations and ensuring farm efficiency, animal welfare, and employee performance. Working under the direction of the Farm Manager or Production Manager, this role supervises farm employees, monitors herd health, enforces biosecurity protocols, and ensures compliance with company and industry standards.
Role and Responsibilities
· Supervise and coordinate daily swine production activities, including feeding, breeding, farrowing, and weaning.
· Ensure proper animal husbandry practices to maintain herd health and productivity.
· Monitor and maintain production targets, such as growth rates, mortality, and feeding efficiency.
· Train, lead and mentor farm employees, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently and correctly.
· Oversee herd health programs, including administering vaccinations and treatments as needed.
· Identify signs of illness or distress and report concerns to management or veterinarians.
· Ensure adherence to animal welfare policies and industry best practices.
· Ensure all farm facilities and equipment are in good working conditions
· Maintain accurate records of production metrics, animal health treatments, and daily farm activities.
· Manage production schedules, herd flow, and facility utilization to maximize efficiency and production goals.
· Ensure compliance with environmental, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
· Ensure effective communication between external stakeholders, farm and company leadership
· Work closely with VP, veterinarians and nutritionists to optimize herd health and performance.
· Assist in audits and inspections as required
Work Environment
· Travel required between farm locations.
· Exposure to farm conditions, including varying temperatures, odors, and livestock environments.
· Requires flexibility in working hours based on production demands.
Physical Requirements
· Standing, walking, and ability to be on feet 8-10 hours per day
· Frequently bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling
· Frequently use one or both hands/arms to grasp or pull
· Frequently lift objects weighing 3-20 pounds
· Occasionally bend while pulling and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds or requiring up to 50 pounds of force to move
· Occasionally bending while pulling and or lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds or requiring up to 100 pounds of force to move with the assistance of another person as needed
· Must be able to print and/or write legibly

· Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to work and
attend meetings

Compensation, Pay & Benefits
· Compensation rate of $ 85,000-$110,000 depending on experience

- Willingness to travel between farm locations and work flexible hours including weekends/overtime
- Experience working with veterinarians and nutritionists to optimize herd performance
