Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Production Planning Supervisor located in Guadalajara, North.
Reporting to the Sr Director, Operations, the Production Planning Supervisor will be responsible for leading production planning execution and floor inventory control for multiple projects within a molding manufacturing environment. This role ensures accurate work order execution in BAAN, effective material flow to production lines, and compliance with production and inventory metrics.
What a typical day looks like:
- Reviews and validates production plans released by the Planner and ensures proper Work Order creation and execution in BAAN.
- Oversees material supply to production lines, ensuring timely fulfillment of Work Orders and Finish Goods completion.
- Leads and supervises Inventory Control Coordinators (3, one per shift) and Material Handlers (4 per shift), ensuring alignment with production requirements.
- Monitors floor inventory accuracy and maintains healthy inventory levels (AGIN ≤ 3 days; DOS ≤ 8 hours).
- Validates 100% of items exceeding 70% floor inventory vs. total plant inventory to ensure control and accuracy.
- Implements and optimizes material replenishment strategies (Kanban or alternative supply methods).
- Coordinates closely with production, planning, and supply chain teams to prevent shortages, manage interruptions, and ensure production continuity.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools to enhance material flow and line support in new or ongoing projects.
- Drives problem-solving and negotiation efforts to resolve supply, scheduling, or material flow constraint.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- BA/BS degree
- Intermediate English level
- Experience in a similar supervisory role within a manufacturing environment (preferably molding).
- Strong knowledge of production planning and inventory control processes.
- Experience with BAAN (SAP knowledge is a plus).
- Experience working with product lifecycle systems and shop floor systems.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Lean tools and material flow optimization methodologies (Kanban, replenishment systems).
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
