Position Summary

The Production Planning Manager is responsible for developing and managing the master production schedule, leading planning processes, and ensuring alignment between customer demand, material availability, production capacity, and inventory strategy.

This position serves as a key link between Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, Purchasing, and Production. The successful candidate will drive schedule attainment, improve inventory performance, support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities, and help create a more responsive and agile manufacturing operation.

This role is ideal for a planning professional who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, analyzing data, balancing competing priorities, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain.


Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the master production schedule to support customer demand and operational objectives.
 • Lead production planning and scheduling activities across the facility.
 • Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and supply review activities.
 • Develop and maintain capacity plans that align labor, equipment, and materials with forecasted demand.
 • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to balance demand, inventory, and production requirements.
 • Analyze demand trends, schedule performance, inventory levels, and production metrics to support decision-making.
 • Lead monthly master schedule review meetings and communicate schedule changes, risks, and constraints.
 • Resolve demand, supply, inventory, and capacity challenges to support customer service objectives.
 • Partner with Purchasing and Planning teams to ensure material availability and optimize inventory performance.
 • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks that impact throughput, schedule attainment, and customer delivery performance.
 • Develop planning processes and scheduling methodologies that improve operational efficiency and responsiveness.
 • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory management, production flow, and customer service.
 • Lead and develop scheduling and planning team capabilities while supporting a culture of accountability and employee ownership.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
 • Three or more years of experience in production planning, production control, scheduling, materials planning, inventory management, or supply chain operations.
 • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
 • Strong understanding of production planning, capacity planning, inventory management, and demand forecasting concepts.
 • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make sound business decisions.
 • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
 • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
 • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
 • APICS, ASCM, CPIM, CSCP, or related supply chain certifications are a plus.

Skills Required
