As a Production Planner, you will play a pivotal role in planning and/or purchasing products designated for manufacturing replenishment and new product launches. You will analyze inventory to ensure alignment with production plans and company inventory policies, while interfacing with Finance to report financial impact. This role requires close collaboration with vendors, procurement, and internal teams to meet production requirements, resolve technical issues, and maintain a smooth product supply chain.
Plan, purchase, and manage inventory to meet required supply parameters, achieve CDI goals, and maintain a smooth supply chain.
Analyze demand, manage production and/or purchase orders, and collaborate with vendors, procurement, and value stream teams to resolve technical issues.
Create, review, and communicate delivery schedules with third-party suppliers, production teams, management, and warehouses (on-site/off-site).
Review safety stock levels, re-order points, and planning parameters, making necessary adjustments.
Manage Material Master Data (lead time, lot size, safety stock/time, etc.) to support production planning.
Prepare and lead meetings on production priorities, raw materials, timelines, and delays.
Identify and mitigate risks of materials reaching end-of-life.
Manage direct inventory up to $60M, ensuring appropriate coverage and minimizing write-offs.
Minimum:
Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
2+ years of relevant experience
Proficiency in SAP / ERP systems
LEAN/ Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
Proven experience in Kanban, VMI, and Consignment implementation
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related discipline
Strong problem-solving skills; resourceful and flexible in dynamic environments
Demonstrated experience in purchasing and production planning
Plans, schedules, and coordinates product flow through the production cycle.
Ensures material availability to support production schedules.
Interfaces with customer service, marketing, production, quality control, and sales to monitor back orders and prioritize production.
Reviews and mitigates potential schedule interruptions or rescheduling needs.
Resolves material and labor shortages, including design-related changes.
Oversees master schedules to ensure compliance with materials requirements for manufacturing.
