The Shop Floor Controller (SFC) is responsible for managing all SAP-related transactions associated with shop floor production orders. This includes order release, execution, and coordination with the warehouse for material issuance as per the shift plan. The role involves ensuring accurate documentation flow (POP or system documents) to the shop floor and resolving any work order costing or variance issues through close coordination with the Production Planner, Production Manager, and Finance team.
The SFC plays a key role in ensuring seamless production execution, accurate system transactions, and compliance with operational policies and procedures.
Your Role:
Assist in generating a feasible Detailed Production Schedule (DPS) from the Master Production Schedule (MPS), with a focus on minimizing changeover times in coordination with Production and Operations Management.
Collaborate with the Production Manager to release production schedules and production orders to the shop floor.
Participate in daily and/or weekly planning meetings with Production and Operations teams to ensure alignment, address constraints, and resolve issues proactively.
Execute and monitor all SAP transactions related to production orders, including order release, confirmations, material consumption, and order closure.
Communicate with the Warehouse team for timely issuance and availability of materials as per shift plans.
Troubleshoot and resolve costing or variance issues related to work orders by collaborating closely with the Planner, Production Manager, and Finance team.
Support in material issuance execution for all production orders; escalate discrepancies or issues promptly.
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all SAP entries and documentation related to shop floor activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and system utilization on the shop floor.
Maintain compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and operational guidelines.
You are the right fit if you have:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or shop floor control role, preferably in an SAP environment.
Strong understanding of SAP Production Planning (PP) module and related transactions (Order Release, Confirmation, Goods Issue, Goods Receipt).
Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Production, Planning, Warehouse, and Finance).
High attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to operational excellence.
