Position Purpose/Summary: The Senior Production Planner is responsible for optimizing the production scheduling and planning activities administration. Specific emphasis on ensuring timely completion through effective collaboration with customers, production operations personnel, and other stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables

All duties as assigned as well as the following specific activities.

· Oversee production plan; maximizing plant efficiencies while meeting customer demand

· Develop and manage Production Schedules from a capacity feasibility and execution standpoint.

· Coordinate customer owned material orders, deliveries & system input to establish optimum production schedules and run strategies

· Interact with and act as a liaison between CSR’s, Business/Customer partners and Planners in regard to all Supply Chain activities

· Monitor and oversee the relationship between the Planner/Scheduler and customers, ensuring customer expectations are met.

· Assists with projects assigned to the Planning team.

· Maintain accurate on-hand material inventories of customer-owned materials, ensuring that obsolete materials are reconciled out of the active supply list while involving the inventory team.

· Help to monitor and maintain Navision system master data, BOMs and Routings with the Project Managers.

· Identify and implement process and system improvements.

· Provide resolution to production capacity constraints.

· Track incremental customer and/or vendor chargebacks with the Procurement team.

· Oversees material quality disposition/resolution through the Quality Department

· Provide training support to the other production team members and suppliers on policies and systems pertaining to planning, ordering/tracking, documentation and invoicing.

· Back-up to the Planning Manager & Production Planners as needed.

· Meets, preferably exceeds, cost goals.

· Provides improvement options that positively impact the company objectives.

· Reduce excess, obsolete and expired inventory levels.

· Accurate and timely preparation of all new or updated Product Instruction Handbooks (PIH’s) as well as master data setup is completed through the Project Managers, need to review as necessary.

Qualifications

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities

Education:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management or a relatable field helpful

· Or equivalent topic-specific work experience required.

· APICS certification a plus

Experience: 4 years experience

· Relevant and progressive planning experience in the packaging industry is highly desired.

· Strong project management methods that include motivating, mentoring and coaching team-building skills.

· Well-practiced customer service with provable success. Practiced good judgment and risk management with production planning techniques and material control principles..

· Adaptable to shifting or competing priorities with a sense of appropriate urgency.

· Change management & continuous improvement mindset to develop solutions to a variety of operational or supply problems.

· Well-developed analytical capacity; translates into meaningful reports and business options.

· Analyzes sales forecasts to determine short- and medium-term requirements for production resources.

Technology/Software:

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office required, very strong Excel skills

· Proficient knowledge of MRP/ERP system; Microsoft Navision a plus, or other relevant ERP systems necessary

Communication:

· Effectively interact with all levels of business partners, internal & external.

· Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally is essential.

· Active listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Physical Capabilities

· Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

· Regularly stands; walks; sits; uses hands to type, grasp/handle, or reach with hands and arms. May need to stoop, kneel or crouch.

Vision (judge distance, read signs, extend computer work, identify details):

· Utilizes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
