This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Planner/Scheduler owns the daily production schedule for the AFT Module in the VSI work center. The Planner builds and maintains the shift-level work sequence, coordinates material readiness, identifies blockers before they reach the floor, and delivers a clean daily punch list to each shift, enabling the technicians to perform the build in an efficient manner.

Shifts:

  • A-Shift - (Mon-Thurs 5AM-3:30PM)

  • C-Shift - (Fri-Sun 5AM-5PM)

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develops the production schedule and manufacturing plan for the AFT Module based on program schedule, build cadence & exit rate, labor, and resource availability, and expected make/buy part availability lead time.

  • Manages production schedules for multiple systems and Shifts.  Provides Production Control with detailed information to ensure scheduled completion dates align with actual work center capacities, capabilities, and historical performance.

  • Prepares job sequence requirements for the AFT build, incorporating zone stacking constraints, test gates, and system interdependencies

  • Works closely with the production team to determine the needs and constraints of the manufacturing shop floor and technicians and schedules work accordingly.

  • Coordinates escalations within cross-functional groups to include Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure production and customer specifications are accurate and production schedules are timely. 

  • Monitors status and provides regular updates to management on progress and upcoming production priorities.

  • Updates visual management boards with current job/program status.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to implement workflow improvements and standard operating procedures

  • Coordinate with Planning, Configuration Management, and Production Control to release work orders based on changing demand, material availability, capacity, and business objectives

  • Maintain the execution calendar and forward-looking 10-day work outlook aligned to IMS critical path

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Production Management, Business Management, Industrial Engineering and/or Supply Chain Management preferred.

  • 1-3 years of recent production control planning and scheduling experience within an aerospace manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Read and understand technical documents including blueprints and schematics.

  • Experience in creating and maintaining schedules with CPM methodology in MS Project.

  • Able to work a full-time schedule, including occasional travel, overtime, or on-call work.

  • Digital literacy

  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Manufacturing Lead, supplier management, and program management experience highly desired.

  • Excellent computer skills with Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Excel, Power Query, SQL, MS Office, and ERP experience with MRP execution desired.

  • Excellent written /verbal communications skills

  • Background in vehicle integration, structural assembly, or systems installation

  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles (kanban, pull systems, point of use)

  • Understanding of zone-based build sequencing and stacking constraints

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
