The Production Planner I coordinates with the operations and procurement teams to ensure the movement of materials and resources through departments to meet production schedules.

  • Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders
  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements
  • Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times
  • Plan sequence of fabrication and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers
  • Confer with supervisors to determine status of assigned projects; expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Prepare production reports
  • Prepare purchase orders to obtain materials, tools, and equipment
  • Any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience: 5+ years’ experience in scheduling, supply chain or fulfillment
  • Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of manufacturing, production planning and materials control functions; Strong understanding of Kanban Systems, JIT, POU, FIFO, Level loading, with a manufacturing process understanding preferred
  • Skills/Abilities: Expert in using scheduling and capacity planning tools experience with Oracle; Significant experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Access; Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Education/Certification: BS degree required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing strongly preferred
  • Experience with Oracle (11i preferred)
Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).Working Conditions:Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
  • Ability to lift objects up to 25 lbs. 
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
  • Standing: 90%, Sitting: 10%, Lifting (in pounds): up to 25 pounds, Pushing (in pounds): up to 50 pounds Mental/Visual: Use of microscope and computer. Workspace (line, cube, etc): clean bench
Salary range: $33.98/hr. - $40.30/hr. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications.

Skills Required
