The Production Scheduling and Operations Associate role will sit in the centralized S&OP org and act as the on-site production planning and scheduling manager for our manufacturing sites. This role will require an understanding of production scheduling and operations management, with a focus on leveraging data-driven analysis to assist in managing and optimizing manufacturing processes. In this role, you will utilize and optimize lab management systems (LabTrac and other) to ensure stable production across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Scheduling:

    • Develop and maintain dynamic master production schedules to meet customer demand while maximizing efficiency.

    • Monitor daily production schedules, reporting on production status, late orders, and deviations from the planned schedule.

      1. Develop, implement, revise, and maintain work-to lists for work prioritization by department

    • Develop and implement a demand smoothing process in conjunction with EPD teams to de-risk OTS and improve costs. This will require establishing methods for accepting the correct levels of production work at the day, shift, and hourly level.

    • Conduct data-driven analysis of production issues and provide reporting and visibility to the Manufacturing Org on key KPIs, including but not limited to the following:

      1. OTD/OTS modeling and explainability: analysis and projections by department and by shift

      2. Production, Utilization, & Productivity modeling: Analysis and projections by department and by shift

      3. Capacity Modeling: Analysis and projections by department and by shift

  2. LabTrac / LMS Management:

    • Maintain production and workflow management features and updates to LabTrac/Dandy LMS, ensuring accurate production schedules, work order statuses, and book on/off processes.

      1. Note: LabTrac/LMS support and maintenance scope is tied to manufacturing and production management items. Administrative issues such as login issues, connectivity & server issues, software bugs, etc. should be elevated and triaged to the appropriate IT, EPD, Admin teams.

    • Work in collaboration with Dandy EPD teams to define any gaps in the current system and provide guidance for needed solutions.

  3. Ad-hoc Reporting for Manufacturing & Production:

    • Generate ad-hoc reports on production-related issues and required analysis to support manufacturing. Examples include: analysis of backlog and burndown estimations, daily reporting on production status and issues, analysis of production systems and issues, production rate analysis by department or technician, etc.

  4. Collaboration and Optimization:

    • Proactively raise production issues to the lab management team and continuous improvement teams for discussion. This may include visibility on unplanned delinquency within departments, deviations from planned workflows, and opportunities to improve process

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement efficiency enhancements and process improvements for the lab management system.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in Production Planning and Scheduling: Proven experience in production scheduling, ideally in a manufacturing or similar environment. You should be familiar with developing master production schedules, work prioritization, and resolving production bottlenecks.

  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct data-driven analysis, understand key performance indicators (KPIs), and create insightful reports that guide decision-making. Experience with metrics such as on-time delivery (OTD), capacity modeling, and production efficiency is essential.

  • Lab Management System Expertise: Experience working with Lab Management Systems (LMS), particularly LabTrac or similar systems, to manage production schedules, track work orders, and optimize workflows. Familiarity with resolving system-related issues in collaboration with other teams is key.

  • Problem-Solving & Process Improvement Focus: A proactive approach to identifying production issues and suggesting improvements. Experience working with continuous improvement teams or similar initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and efficiency.

  • Collaboration & Communication Skills: Ability to work cross-functionally with teams such as EPD, IT, and manufacturing. Strong communication skills to ensure clear reporting, visibility, and collaboration with various departments.

  • Adaptability & Initiative: This role requires someone who can adapt to dynamic production environments and take initiative in solving problems, optimizing processes, and improving scheduling systems.
