The Role

Job Summary

Provides first point-of-contact support to Production Technicians for production issues. Communicates production goals and monitors daily output. Helps guide technicians to solve problems themselves where necessary, provide answers or clarifications, or bring in other line support team members as appropriate. Responsible for the assurance that technicians are accountable to meeting policies, procedures, process, specifications, and performance standards.  Supports Production Technicians and Production Masters within assigned area.

Monday-Thursday | 6:00am-4:30pm; Overtime as required


Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

 

  • Supervisor delegate of production line area technicians for on-line support when Production Supervisor is not available.
  • Acts as the primary line support in areas of technician training, usage of planning, specifications, Operational Method Sheets (OMSs), and Sequence of Events (SOEs), and compliance to Cirrus standards.
  • Determines daily output goals and productivity calculations. Monitors line performance relative to the output plan.
  • Assists technicians to improve performance to time target and build quality through training and guidance. Support line technicians to work safely and in identifying safety hazards.
  • Quickly escalates issues to other line support team members such as, material shortages, quality disposition, technician non-performance or interpersonal/disciplinary issues, and lack of kanban signals to support build plan.
  • As appropriate, investigates performance gaps and resolves them where possible. Brings in Supervisor and escalates to other line support team members as necessary.
  • Observes Production technicians at close quarters to be able to ascertain ability and skill levels relative to operation requirements.
  • Identifies Production technicians with performance issues or interpersonal/disciplinary issues. Works with the Production Supervisor to include input for performance reviews. Ensures that technicians are taking timely breaks and remain in station and on task throughout the day to optimize performance.
  • As directed by the Production Supervisor, works with Production Technicians to improve team performance, run shift line meetings, and other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
  • Quickly escalates issues to other line support team members such as, material shortages, quality disposition, tool/equipment issues, and lack of kanban signals to support build plan
  • Performs quality control inspections for a specific area of the work center and communicates quality workmanship issues back to the team.
  • Monitors First Pass Yield data and takes action to correct negative trends
  • Ensures non-conforming articles are processed through the MRB procedures.
  • Tracks and plans completion of out of station work. Supports downstream customers as needed.
  • Maintains certification in operations in assigned area.
  • Provides secondary support to line as necessary related to work orders, kanban replenishment, material handling routines.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); associate's degree preferred.
  • Cirrus Technician Level II qualification preferred.
  • Experience leading or managing a team.
  • Strong Technical background.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak the English language
  • Knowledge of Internet software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Adapts to changing assignments.
  • Has the foresight to plan and organize daily tasks.
  • Demonstrates clear and precise communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced team environment.
  • Must possess the highest level of integrity and have the ability to communicate errors to leadership.
  • Reliable and dependable work ethic and can adapt to changing work requirements.
  • Ability to qualify as a Quality Control Inspector and conduct inspections of in-process and completed work.
